Default P5N-E Sli Error

So , I'm using a USB to try and update my bios through the EZ Flash 2 Utility and I get the error " Downgraded ROM file is not suitable for this sytem "
I have Windows 7 and it keeps crashing , BSOD.
And I think the problem is with the BIOS since it hasn't been updated since , 2007 , I believe.
I still have the 0404 version.
That's the reason why I wanna update it.

But anyways , is there anything wrong I'm doing ?

I had this same problem with the same board when trying to flash from DOS. I ended up flashing from Windows and it worked fine but I wouldn't suggest you do that if you are BSODing. Maybe install XP and try flashing from there?

I have also had that issue when I had the P5N-E. I cleared it by updating to different newer rom and them updating that one to the newest.

Updating the bios through windows also works. It did that way when I wanted to add a custom bios splash screen.
