It pulls air from the MB away to the outside right? That's what it looks like from the box anyways.

it does if you have the right hardware encoding. look at the auzentech xplosion 7.1 if youre going to hook it up to home entertainment centers or the like.

EDIT: forgot to mention it is currently the ONLY sound card to offer dolby digital live, which is required if you are going to hook it up to home entertainment centers or the like.

Ok, so it is NOT recomended that I use the SPDIF just by itself? I will just invest in a decent sound card.

Also I have another question. I have a HDTV that has just normal 5.1 surround sound in my room, and I want to hook the computer up, and use the TV as a monitor, and the surround sound for the speakers, so would I need that "xplosion 7.1" card to do this?

Yes Mike, I plan on comparing the ES and retail side by side, to tell if there is a difference between the two in the E6400 chip.

Pics of the stock HSF are attached:

No difference at all? Are the P D's 4 pin connectors too? It's been a while since I have seen a stock HSF. This doesn't look like a total POS with the copper base and stuff, but I bet it is loud as hell!

Haha, is that a let down for you?

I would have thought by now that Intel would have caught on the heatpipe design like AMD, but I guess not
