ITS HERE! Conroe IS HERE! PICS! + Build Log!!!!!
Hey guys,
In preparation for my Conroe build, starting at about noon tomorrow, this thread is now in affect! Here is the parts list of my build, and where they stand: E6400 - Have already Gigabyte DS3 - Have already Evga 7900GT - Have already Team Xtreme 2GB DDR2 667 - Coming Soon FSP FX600-GLN (Best bang for buck PSU of all time) - Coming Soon WD 200GB 3.0GB/s SATA - Have already Lian Li PC 65 - Have already Lite On 16x Litescribe DVDRW - Have already Lite on DVDROM - Have already SB Live - Have already Now I want your guys opinions on cooling. Do you think a TTBT and 110CFM Silverstone fan will do the trick, or should I go all out? By tomorrow there will be no shortage of pictures, and 56K users will need to beware. All in all I think this rig is going to kick butt. I didn't mind paying a premium price for the E6400, because I saved around $60 on my video card compared to new, so I figured why not. Also if you look, Newegg was only in stock with them for 1 day, and I was lucky enough to grab one. That means they are out of their first shipment, just like Tankguys, and now they need to wait from their second shipment which is mid/last August according to TK.biz Also as some of you might be wondering, I did order the pre release ES E6400 off ebay too. That is because I am going to test both side by side, and see if the pre release is really any better than the retail. My thoughts are that the pre release will be very similar to the retail, because that is what I have been seeing alot of over at XS. The big difference between pre releases' have been with the E6600 and E6700, where there is a very broad range of overclocks from "Meh" to "Amazing" with the retails, whereas the pre release ones have been a constant "Amazing" Please let me know if you have comments/questions. I will have tons of pics for you all tomorrow, believe me, there will be shortage what so ever! Please let me know what you guys think! I am really excited about this build, especially because after selling the guts from my old rig, I am only spending about $350 for this whole new Conroe build! Pretty sweet huh? If someone needs help planning their Conroe build, please let me know, because I have been doing a ton of research and also reading threads on XS and many other sites, and there are alot of incompatible things with Conroe. For example some RAM needs to be 1.8V to work on many of the Conroe mobos and if you don't have 1.8V DDR2, your rig won't even boot. So let me know if you have questions of your own!

I sure will, I am super excited, can't you tell on the internet?
Anyhow, I will have tons of pictures for you guys tomorrow. I can't wait, I am going to sleep real late, so I will wake up about 12-1ish and my stuff will already be here! Unless UPS takes it back to their warehouse and doesn't leave it! Shoot maybe now I will need to stay up all night and not go to sleep, so I don't miss them!
