no, to much as5, just a drop and stick the cooler on it, dont spread it. i done same mistake and then needed to take it down and reaply, and my temps gone down 6C..

i have the same hdd seagate, dont use them in raid 1k, make sure you make raid of 32k, otherwise they will make an horible noise

why you have an xbox and comp? dont see the point on haveing 2 gameing machines, instead of the xbox you could have spend your money on an 24" lcd

well i got the 360 last year, and i like me some Halo and Gears of War just got some accessories for xmas for it.

well TAT shows my idle temps at 21-23C and my ambient is like 20C so i dont think it could drop the temps a whole lot by reapplying the AS5. plus with all the problems i had getting the infinity clamped down i dont wanna take it off.

ran orthos for a couple of mins to get my load temp, it was 30-33C this good or bad?

ok what are the essential settings before i overclock that need to be set in the bios, i know the pci bus has to be at 33 and the pci-e at 100 but is there anything else. and what should i set my ram too, its the DDR2 1000 Crucial Ballistix. what are the voltages supposed to be set at for stock?

and anyone know where i can find the 0711 bios since i heard the 0804 has the restart issue when overclocking. im currently running the 0507 Bios.

well you have a overclocked (assuming) 6700 and that super pi was on a stock 6400. i threw the soundblaster in there cause i figured it would be just as good as the onboard and relieve the cpu of some of its load, but if onboard is that much better ill take it out. any answers to my overclocking questions, im a noob

edit: stock aquamark score

uh oh, well i was reading about overclocking for the past few hours and decided i would give it a go. downloaded the 0711 bios since i had heard the 0804 had that issue with powering down, coming on, restarting or something like that.

put the bios on a floppy, and pressed alt+f2 to enter ez flash, chose the floppy drive and the rom file and it updated the bios and said it was completed and the comp would restart.

when it restarted i pressed del to go into setup but it didnt, it just went on to the screen that shows up aster post, the raid array i think, and just froze there adn wouldnt do anything. so after a min i pressed the reset button and nothin, then all of a sudden it shut off completely, then turned on but i have no video. turned it off with power switch and turned back on, still no video. what do i do????

clear cmos? or unplug the power cable and take out the battery for about 20 minutes, then try again

you should use windows to lash bios, but flsh it onece more from bios if the all above things dont work

edit: ok im following this guide.
http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardw...ict197995.html

this is where im at
Quote:
Part3. Voltage (again not all BIOS will have the option or uses different name)
***The following voltages are to be used with Part4***

1. Set DRAM/DIMM Voltage (vDIMM) to 2.1V or 2.2V if specified by RAM (+0.3V or +0.4V)
2. Set MCH Voltage (vMCH) to 1.55V
3. Set FSB Voltage (vFSB) to 1.40V
4. Increase SB Voltage (vICH) by +0.1V from default-lowest value
5. Set CPU Voltage (vCore) for the following CPU

E6300=1.370V E6400=1.375V E6600=1.400V E6700=1.400V X6800=1.400V
1. the P5B D's vdimm goes 2.15, 2.25, 2.30, so should i make it 2.25 since my ram is rated at 2.2?
2. is the MCH voltage my NB VCore?
3. is the FSB voltage the FSB Termination Voltage?
4. i have SB VCore (SATA, PCIE) and ICH Chipset voltage. do i set both of them or just one?
