The S3 doesn't support Raid while the DS3 does, which the OP stated he wanted.

If you're going for a Zalman cooler, don't get the 9500. Get the 9700. It's bigger, so it has more fins, and a larger fan as well.

Incorrect. Both boards do not support RAID on the southbridge (ICH8), but both have a secondary Gigabyte controller that supports RAID0/1/JBOD.
