*MORE UPDATE*
Orthos failed on 7 Hours and 56 Minutes... this is bull

I went all out and lapped the cpu and relapped the heatsink. They are now both mirror shine and polished. Plus I did some research on the ds3 and found out that F7 bios was most stable for rev.1 boards as any thing above will simply not boot some of the overclocks. (some people had a stable overclock on F7 but F9 or F10 will not boot it)

Right now I am on Orthos at 365fbs on 1.45v and seems stable. I'll see how it turns out.

yeah seems like the average is 3.7, so far everyone that ive heard of that had them is getting atleast that at pretty low volts but some are having problems right at that speed like 3700 is good and 3701 wont go

still 3.7 on a 170$ chip aint that bad

have you tried jumping up to a higher fsb .. you might be suffering from strap issues.. try starting at like 425 or so and see if ya can get in loosen the timings on the ram and if your at the default stock voltage for your ram then bump it up an extra .1 or .2

my ram is good, and i already bumped it up there is a review in the new section. These ram can take ddr 1000 at 5-5-5-15 I am only on 4-4-4-12 on 700mhz

ok I am giving up on 100% oc dream lol I am very disappointed at this chip, probably a bad week number. I need 1.5v on 370fbs for 7hour orthos and will not boot after 385. Strap is not the issue i tried with 400+.

anyways I am now going for 367fbs which is 3.3ghz (83% OC) around 1.4v if I can get this stable then I am fine with that. No crazy overvolt

I tried initially to bench 3Dmark05/06 but seems like cpu is bottlenecking the 8800GTS.

So What's to be done in the future:
1. Stable 3.3ghz
//2. Ram Timing of 3-3-3-8 (I should be able to pull it off)
3. Bench everything
4. Take the damn pictures
5. and more to come if I can think of any

Do you think I can max most of the current games with this pc with >20fps?

*edit*
1. seems like 4-4-4-12 runs best with intel
2. orthos stable for 7hours and 15 when i checked this morning still stressing right now on1.48v vcore

*UPDATE*
I've reached my 3.3ghz goal and I am staying at that. I had Orthos stable for 17 hours straight (sleep + school = 17 hours)

So here is my final CPU Stats:
E4300 @ 3.312Ghz / 368Mhz FSB
84% Overclock
1.48125v vcore in BIOS
No other voltage changes
17 hour Orthos stable

Will boot at max 385Mhz FSB, but will not run Orthos.
380Mhz FSB seems stable on 1.57v but I will not use it because of the crazy overvolt.

Screenshot is included

I am off to benchmarks now.

*Edit* 3Dmark05/06 will not show the score unless I am connected to the internet. Because I am running the pc open case in another room so no interenet. I am gonna wait until the case arrives, put everything, make sure it's all safe from the outside world, and resume my benchmarking.

UPDATE FEB 15TH 2007, CASE ARRIVED!

Finally everything is complete, ahhh new comp! Scroll down for system specs!

So couple of things:
1.All pics are scattered through out this thread, all the updated pics from today are in the following posts:
http://www.overclock.net/1688527-post24.html
http://www.overclock.net/1688533-post25.html
http://www.overclock.net/1717895-post27.html
http://www.overclock.net/1717937-post34.html
http://www.overclock.net/1724072-post39.html
and this one

2. My first shot at cable management

3. Centurion came with 2 fans and I added a third 92mm with wires in the 5.25" bay

4. The system runs cooler!! as you can see I am running orthos and it's 5C cooler than running open case! aroudn 20c idel and 50 load never goes over 51c (maybe i can get more oc? plus i moved it to a warmer ambient so if i move it back to the cold room...) Scythe infinity with mounting mod + lapped everything is awsome

5. I need more lights lol everything is blue in the case so i was thinking of getting some blue led fans etc (my speakers have blue led too so it's a blue machine )

6. I dropped vcore by a notch so it's now 1.48125v and increased chipset by 0.1v it seems stable

7. This is still not fully complete becasue i have not attached speakers, internet cables, game pads/wheels etc. I'll take a pic when everything is complete which will be in couple of days ( i need to clear room for all this stuff) IT IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE A uber expensive PC set.

That'll be all

POST YOUR COMMENTS!!!

Current Stats:
