A friend of mine has asked me to build him somewhat of a budget rig and I need some assistance.
Guidelines: - Budget is approximately $800 but is flexible. - Massive hard drive space is not needed. ~80GB will suffice. - Would like to make it Core 2 Duo (E6300) if budget allows. - Video card needs to be mid-level or lower. Something "that can easily run" The Sims. I'm thinking x1600 perhaps? - I think 1 GB of RAM is good for now. - Mobo and PSU I'm not sure of yet. - Centurion 5 Case should also suffice. If anyone has any pre-built rigs at about this price I'd really like to take a look at them. Any help here would be great. REP+ for good helpers of course ![]()

HZ's http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231063 PSU-Tt Trupower 430watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153023 GPU-eVGA 7900GS, a x1950pro would be better, but I'm biased towards nVidia, eVGA especially http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130056 Case- Centurion C5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119068 DVD Burner- Samsung DVD +/- R http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151133 That all comes to $780.97 after the shipping fees, no tax included (go NH). You were not clear, does he need speakers, keyboard, headphones, monitor?????

Oh snap, whoops kinda forgot that bit. Still puts the price to roughly 825-840 which is within reason
__________________Edit: I'd go with the WD harddrive as I have had veru good luck with them. I would not suggest dropping the 7900gs, skimp on the memory as those are very good HZ's, maybe go with OCZ Golds or a step under HZ's, that would shave a good $25-30 off the price.

Sorry my lack of reply to this thread. I hate when I ask for suggestions then forget all about it. The above build looks pretty good. It'll definitely be helpful. Thanks guys
