yea i guess these chips are hungry for voltage for some odd reason .. if i could stable mine at 3.4 @ 1.35 id knock 4.0 down like it was nothing at 1.5 i guess the phase does help..

well after running a few days at 3.4 ive decided to boot windows back up and continue to push farther .. right now i am priming at 3.55 as of right now im having issues getting the board to post at anything higher then a 395 fsb not sure why considering at a 400 fsb would be defualt specs for my ram so i can only think im not pushing enough voltage somewhere or ive hit a wall or strapping issue .. either way if 3.55 comes out stable thats damn near 100 percent oc off this e4300 .. not to shabby .. id really like to push it father right now my PI times are mid 17s not the best but certainly not the worst.. also sadly i lost all my pics o took of the lapping project so i will not be able to post those up.. next time i do any pics will be when installing the water system for the northbridge and fineallizing the wire management installing the CC blacklights and putting on the window tag from overclock.net

its 1.56 bios but runs 1.52 under load in windows, i dont know i know it was going good at 396 so i waited a couple of days and upped it to 400, it still wont load at 420 or 430 but oh well, plus it crashes out at 410 under occt or orthos

i guess i got one of the punk chips.. at 1.6 in bios or 1.55 according to speed fan my second core fails at anything above 390.. and at 390 exaclty 30 minutes into it every time i get a bsod for irq not equal driver or some crap like that.. do they have a dual core version of occt ...
EDIT: why yes i see they do make a dual core occt now.. thats nice i always liked occt better then prime95 30 minutes vs 8 hours.. hmm yea.. i always used that as my first test once i got it where i wanted it and keeped passing the 30 min test id run an 8 hour prime and always pass that too.. right now im running 3492mhz and its passing so far.. thats at a 388 bus.. i hope they do another update to occt.. its detecting my core and a merom core

well i managed to boot up above 400fsb .. and man is this board or cpu fussy it will post some fsb and others it wont.. i can see this is gonna be a really really long trial and error ordeal.. i also know that im not stable.. i booted up at 410 but windows bsod during start up i know i need more vcore i gota find someway to get it.. this damn board skips from 1.6 to 1.8 yet for some reason it goes as low as 0.450 for voltage.. um .. what cpu works with half a volt.. really.. what is gigabyte thinking here.. i did note that using occt when i failed one of my other test the vcore dipped down to about 1.55 ... if i could get it steady at 1.6 i bet that would make a world of difference anyway heres a cpu-z of me fineally cracking the 400fsb mark..

nice one dude, did you look to see if there was a vdroop mod for your board, theres gotta be one for it somewhere that you can find, look at vrzone and see if they got one there, that would help with getting you close to what you set in bios for your vcore

i dont think the droop is all that much actually.. just enough to drop me under stable im feeling if i can set the bios to say 1.625 or 1.630 it would hang.. or even 1.65 would probably do the trick ... not to sure if i want to put the effort into vmod this board i know theres a pencil mod for the ds3 but its only good for stock voltage any overclocking and the board falls apart fast.. not sure why but everyone that has done it has taken it off..
