Alright, well, in that case maybe I will stick with the ddr2-6400 800mhz Ballistix Crucials..

Im reading the reviews on the p5b deluxe and it isnt getting the best reviews.. Ive read a great deal of reviews on the wifi and non wifi versions of the boards that arnt exactly favorable..

It would be nice if the styker would come down in price but in any case..

I like the Asus name, its more along the lines that I want a good overclock machine that is going to be super stable.. essentially this machine is going to become a VMware machine that is going to be used for testing and a Domain/Exchange enviroment, so I want the fastest possible to maximise the user enviroment.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

The P5N32-E is almost identical to the striker extreme and its close to the same price as the evga 680i.

But the reviews of that board are so shoddy!

Im going off the new egg reviews but out of 50 review only 44% give it 5 stars.. 16% give 2 stars..

dont get me wrong, I dont want to give up functionality.. I mean, this board is going to be used for other stuff besides a server system..

It just seemed the Evga had such great reviews and functionality.. Im not purchasing for about 2 months as the budget has not been ratified to purchase this system as of yet..

Any suggestions/comments are more then welcome and i deff am greatful for the ones already posted!

are you looking at reviews on newegg? If you are you do know that the majority of the people who rate those are just idiots right?

Uh I'd take the new egg reviews with a grain of salt, most of them seem to be written by idiots who have no business even trying to assemble a computer. (just read the post about the dual core cpus) I've worked with the asus board, and so has robilar, most of the people on this board who have that mobo seem to have no complaints about it.

This is true, most of the people on their bought the part but didint know of a certain feature because they didint read about it. Newegg reviews mean a little bit but they don't mean THAT much.

Well as it stands I might take a chance on the asus p5n-32e and pair it with the crucial ballistix ddr-6400 800mhz.. Ive been reading and I wasnt originally going to do a RAID array but I certainly do not like data loss.. so I might do a raid 1+0 setup and see where I can go with that.

Should I then update the power supply or is 580w still going to be ok for this? The hiper seems to be a decent PSU so I think rated 580w should actually have a 580w throughput.

Is it a general concensus then that this board paired with the e6600 and ddr2-6400 800mhz should be able to, in theory, reach a substantial overclock.. 3.6ghz or above?

Thanks for all the input guys, it is greatley appreciated.. and thanks for inproving my reading skills as now I am left having to research this Asus board a bit further :-)
