This is a slight spin-off of my current Phoenix build, but here it goes: Building a Conroe system for my neighbor. Specs:

2 7800GTXes, SLI, watercooled
E6600
Team Xtreem DDR2 1000
ASUS Striker Extreme 680i
Storm CPU Block, D5 pump, Dual heatercore
X-Fi

And without further ado, here we go!

The motherboard- Very nice packaging


Pfft...Who needs warning labels


Quick shot of the board in its plastic case...No anti-static bag here :\

This is really cool- The IO shield is EL illuminated, so I don't have to fumble around in the dark looking for slots


As always, Asus has packaged the board with a plethora of accessories


OMGHAXBBQ! What is that black thing! It's a keychain, silly


Temp sensors, these are always useful


The audio riser card- Won't be needing that, the X-Fi takes care of audio



And now we get into the board. In the best interest of giving you all the possible perspectives, I took 4 shots, one at each angle of the board.





And now the business area- The 3 buttons are Power, Reset, and Clear CMOS- Something very useful!

And now the socket area- Insulating this would be a major PITA!

Okay, and without more further ado, here is the building aspect!

The PC as I left it, about a year ago (Did that build for him, as well):


That's right, a 1KW PCP&C PSU


Draining the monster- This was a major PITA!



The 2 7800GTXes, drained and off to the side to get their fittings re-oriented.


So much money in parts, it's not even funny


The Striker installed



...With some Team Memory installed I will be using the exact same memory in my build, too!





I leave you now with this shot- Monday, progress will continue when the CPUs arrive!

Looks like it will be a really solid build, Can't wait to see the results.

That Asus strike seems like an amazing mobo. Especially for the $.

Nice work there. I'm debating between building around an Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680i ROG Ultimate Gaming Motherboard or the more modest, simplier Asus P5N32-E nForce 680i Motherboard...

Good build, it's looking good together. Core 2 Duo, SLi, Water Cooling - it's all here!
