Default Potential New Build?

So my friend's motherboard died on him and I'm considering selling him some of my components for cheap and building a new Intel build for myself. Here's what I picked out so far, any recommendations would be appreciated.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale - $159
http://www.netaffilia.com/ad/electro.../23/23188.html

Mobo: ASUS P5N-E LGA 775 650i OEM - $109
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131142R

RAM: OCZ Plantinum Rev.2 2GB DDR2-800 - $190
http://www.clubit.com/product_detail...emno=CA4308301

PSU: Sunbeam Nuuo 450W - $55
http://www.xpcgear.com/sunbeam450wbk.html

Video Card: EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB - $300
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...232&CatId=2669

Optical Drive: Lite On SHC-52S7K SATA - $28
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=SHC...8e80220457d977

Cooling: Thermaltake Big Typhoon - $40
http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-big-typhoon-hsf.html

Everything else I will be using from my current setup so this is about $800 before taxes and rebates. I'm trying to cut back on costs as much as possible so if there's anything cheaper that I could get please tell me. If anyone has any of these parts for sell, let me know

Scary PSU but everything looks fine if you're on a budget below 800.

2x1GB of G. Skill DDR2-800 Ram - $169

FSP Group 400W Power Supply Unit - $50

Asus P5N-E nForce 650i Motherboard - $140

It'd take that over what you selected. The Retail box is very, very helpful. Cables, Manuals, Drivers, Etc. It's well worth the Money, and, I'd also take G. Skill over OCZ anyday.

The FSP Group Power Supply is much higher quality than the Nuuo. It's made by the people who OCZ Technology uses so it's a very good unit that can take abuse.

--

Personally, I'd get 1x1GB of G. Skill DDR2-800 Ram for now ($99.99) and get an OCZ GameXStream 6/700W Power Supply Unit. Then, upgrade to another 1GB later on. The OCZ Power Supplies are $115 for the 600W and $130 for the 700W (after mail-in rebate) at newegg now.

Definately need better PSU. Look at the 500W Silverstone, costs about $100, but worth it.

Also, OCZ might not be the best choice in RAM. Look for G.Skill or something like that.

If you want to overclock, probably a Gigabyte S3 (Intel 965 Express Chipset), is a better pick.

Otherwise, good stuff!

Thanks for all the recommendations so far. I am looking for the most cost effective components rather than just those with raw performance. I am on a budget, so I can't justify spend over $100 on a PSU right now. And is that FSP Group PSU enough to power everything I listed?

I have an OCZ PowerStream 600W Power Supply Unit that I'm not using. I can sell it to you for pretty cheap. PM Me if you are interested.

Also, I would get the OCZ GameXStream 600W Power Supply Unit or a FSP Group 400-600W Blue Storm (Blue Power Supply Unit) PSU.

What do you think about doing this:

That FSP would be better up to the challenge than the Sunbeam.

However, picking an OCZ GameXstream over an FSP does'nt make sense, since GameXtream is actually BUILT by FSP

The 450W FSP is the best pick for a budget PSU imo..

And why a 650i mobo over an Gigabyte S3????

2x1GB of G. Skill DDR2-800 Ram - $190

Gigatebyte S3 P965 Motherboard - $110

FSP Group 500W Power Supply Unit - $80

Better Power Supply. Better Motherboard. Better Ram. Same Price.
