Should have got a phase unit.

That watercooling is "low end" for a quad core.

Where can you buy loose SATA power plugs, to just attach to your power cable (like he did)?

Also, he initally had a SATA power cable, with just one SATA power plug on one end, and the other end with the PSU; no molex plugs. Anyone know where I can get those cables?

EDIT: Those cables probably don't exist, as I just realised not everyone has modular PSUs. Can Molex power adapters be removed without destroying the cable. If so, how? By just yanking it off?

He has two now in RAID0, i advised him on getting Raptors. He has plenty of cash but he doesn't have much knowledge on certain things like most of us discuss daily on here.

He only keeps the components for 6months and his mate buys the lot off of him, that way he keeps up with the lastest technology without the huge expense of upgrading.

They are new Hard Drives that run much, much faster than current Hard Drives. They are, also, silent because there is no moving parts. It's basically like have 128GB of Ram as your Hard Drive so it's Faster, Silent, and it costs $100 per Gigabyte.

Also, there is a lot of new technology that is coming out and that Rig is dumbly built. With $20,000 I could have built a much better PC. Basically, I'd get my Rig with a QX6700 and Dual 8800/8900GTX's and a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1kW. With 3/4th of a Year left, there will be new technology, like K8L, DDR3, SSHD, 45nm Cores, and AMD/ATi's R/RD600. Plus, if he wasn't an idiot, he would have gotten 4x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB Hard Drives in a Raid-0+1 Array for 1.5TB of Storage that is Mirrored. On top of this, he should have gotten a Quad Core Tuned Custom Phase Change Unit.

It doesn't really cost that much for a good computer. You can get the best computer out right now for under $10,000, while the best car would cost you way over $500,000 and a really big house can cost over $5,000,000 and a small country can cost over $5,000,000,000.

The World's Most Expensive Car costs over $1,300,000. I've seen Homes advertised for $28,000,000. So, in comparison, Computers are very cheap. For $7,500 you can get a Quad Core, 8800GTX SLi, and a 30" Monitor.
That would be more than enough for 3 years, plus, you can always upgrade Computers by getting more Ram, a bigger/better Hard Drive, a new Optical Drive, better Cooling, a bigger Power Supply, and a faster Processor.

Andy:

I know. This guy doesn't know much. If you look at my posts above I listed things that will arrive in 2007, like:

-AMD/ATi R600
-45nm Processor
-AMD K8L Processor
-Improved NVIDIA G80s
-Solid State Hard Drives
-New Intel Socket + DDR3

Also, he could have gotten a Phase Change Unit and overclocked that QX6700 to 3.8GHz and that would get a lot better score in Benchmarks compared to the stock QX6700.
