Apparently my sig was too long (It had my build specs in it). So I am making this thread for my Spring/Summer build. Please don't flame me for posting it so long before I build it, you're just bumping it if you do that. All suggestions are welcome.

I'll try to recommend a mobo - its not really my area of expertise. The GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L is a great budget board and is only $90. also the DFI LANPARTY DK, is good and is $150.
However, for the water cooling loop I would recommend: cpu block: d-tek fuzion, $60 radiator: black ice 360, $55 (quads put out a ton of heat) pump: Laing D5 / Swiftech MCP-655 (variable version), $70 tubing: 1/2" tygon or 7/16" Masterkleer, $2 or $.50 per foot reservoir: swiftech Micro res, $17 coolant: distilled water, pt nuke, pentosin fans: 3x 86cfm Panaflo, $30 for all three

You can scrape off 20-30 bucks by getting a D-tek DB-1 pump from cyberdruidpc.com
It's a really great pump.

Do I really need a 360? Can I get load temps <55C @ 3.6-3.8ghz on Q6600 with just a 240?
Do you think GPUs will need PCIe 2.0 in 3 years? I am wondering if I am going to need to get a X38 MB...

I decided not to do water cooling, anyone know where to get a lapped TRUE cheap? Also does anyone know if the X38 will have any price cuts soon?

I wouldn't bet on significant X38 price cuts until the fall, as people start scaling back PC purchases in anticipation of Nehalem and the new Intel socket. Of course, if you were going to wait that long you ought to wait for Nehalem anyway. Intel with integrated memory control is going to be absurdly fast in applications.
I don't think that PCIE 2.0 is going to be a necessary commodity anytime soon. Some cards can use 2.0, but they don't need the faster speeds yet. And if they did, a socket 775 processor would bottleneck the bejesus out of them anyway. I like my DS3L, and I've heard good things about ABIT's IP35-E ($60) and the Gigabyte X38 DS4 ($200). Main piece of advice: If you're waiting until summer, get a 45nm Quad, probably a Q9450 in the $300-ish range. Save money by replacing that pricey TRUE with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro for less than thirty bones, and enjoy your 10% faster clock for clock processor.

Looks good but if you are getting a Q6600 thats more likely to support SLI and Xfire then a 9600GT. If you dont like 8800s then my get a Q6600. Get a cheapers CPU.

agreed. my sound card is really old and I can still tell the difference between it and my family's onboard sound. But go ahead and leave it out if you like buzzing.

It is FAR too early for you to be GPU shopping. Surely there will be a 8800 price drop soon.
