This is my first build and with the components I will be using listed below. Let me know what you guys think and any suggestions on anything I should change. Also, I am in need of a project name and can't think of anything at the moment so any ideas would be great. Thanks...

I'd go for a:
600W OCZ StealthXStream PSU 2GB PC2-8500 Crucial Ballistix 500GB Seagate Barracuda w/ 32MB Cache Any DVD-RW really, I tend to go for samsung or pioneer. As for fans, I think Yate Loons look like good fans, not TOO loud, and they push a good amount of air ![]()

Project update
In the process of doing all the case mod work. Done testing for stability for what I am going to run the system at 24/7. When system is all done I plan on putting it up on craigslist to see if it will sell....otherwise I will use it as an all purpose workstation/gaming machine. I am currently running on my vaio laptop and dont have my wifi setup on my desktop yet so I can post any cpu-z verification just yet... System update: 3.2GHz (9*356fsb) 1.34vcore idle (set to 1.4 in BIOS) RAM divider - 2.4 Timing: 5-5-5-15 10:12 FSB:RAM Ratio Ran prime95 small FFT for 24+ hours and blend test for 24+ hours -Temps ran around 48-54 degress celcius under full load with an ambient of 26-29 degress celcius. Ran memtest86+ for 20+ hours with 86 runs with no errors. This system seem stable? Good Temps? In-progress: Cable Management -Mock up holes to be cut... -Add rubber molding to holes... Window-Mod -Cut window hole....DONE -Add molding... -Mount Window... Paint Case -Paint black self etching primer... -Paint black paint black overcoat... Reinstall all components... Add lights -Mount Blue CCFL's (Logisys 12" Dual)... -Run Wiring... Install wifi PCI card... Re-install Vista onto Raptor Drive.... Install rest of Apps... Also waiting for the xigmatek bolt on kit sent for free. I plan on mounting my cooler to face towards the top fan since the hot air will rise and then the fan can exhaust it straight out. Will post more pics of the case mod soon... just need to get everything done. Stay tuned.... ps. There is about a half inch gap between the bottom of the case and the PSU. Do you think I could flip it over and so that the PSU is sitting up right? I don't want to cut a hole in the bottom of the case though.

Update 2: Wanted to do more than just have a basic Pc so I looked on OCN at the mods people were doing and got inspiration to make mine better. I decided to do a window mod to show off the components with some lighting and do cable management cuz clean installs are the s****!!! Anyways here you go....ill try and explain the pics as best as I can.
Lemme know what you think Before... installed everything quick for the first time cuz i was excited for my first build and wanted to make sure everything was working. ![]() Started with cutting the window hole. Took me a long time to figure out the dimensions I wanted to use. Followed mnpctech.com tutorial... ![]() Used 1" dremel cutoff disks cuz thats all i had and didn't want to spend the money on reinforced. If you are familiar with upcutting caused the disks to wear down faster than downcutting. Went through about 10 disks to cut the whole thing out. ![]() ![]() Had to debur edges with dremel round sander. ![]() Window Test fit. Wanted a gap from ridge on inside of case and didn't want to see drive bays. ![]() ![]() Started taking stuff out of case to cut cable holes and painting. Removing everything was a b****. Took out fans and and all the buttons & etc. on the front. I ended up breaking the power button when I was trying to pull it out of its holder. I wired up a momentary switch I bought for $.99 at vetco(radioshack on crack) in bellevue. Then I just went to frys (only local place they got this case) and acquired a new one. ![]() Only pic I took of cutting cable holes Got too excited and wanted to get it done. lol![]() Got some goodies. Free promotion from Xigmatek. Emailed them and had to fill out a form and send in proof of purchase. Also got some extra fan mounts I asked for cuz for some reasion I thought the rear of the heatsink also had the notch to mount the fan so I can do a push/pull config but didn't so I have a set of extramounts(any idea what i should do with them?) ![]() ![]() Painted case. Sorry I didn't take more pics. Used 1 can self-etching primer and 1 can black bumber coating (both plasi-kote brand). Wait 30 mintues between primer coats. Then 30 to 45 minutes between black coats. Let it dry overnight. ![]() ![]() ![]() Started putting everything back together... Fans. Got some fan grills from frys (2-pack). Looks alot cooler than original grill (cut before painting). ![]() ![]() Front panel wiring & Fans. Ran wires through a little hole on the side. Fans had some holes to run the wire through already. Cut the fan grills out to get some better suction. Might put some chrome grills there or leave it like that but put led fans. ![]() ![]() Installed everything else. CD Drive, HDDs, PSU ![]() ![]() Bought some small rubber tubing from napa and used an exacto knife to cut a straight slit for hole molding. ![]() Adjusting wires in back. ![]() Bought some car door edge molding from schucks and used it for window molding. Since my hole was a square with no fillets I used a lighter to make the rubber more elastic and molded it to fit over the edges. I also cut it a little larger than it actually fit so when it was finally put on, the molding was very tight to the corners would hit the edges. ![]() Time change HSF mount and reinstall ![]() I guess I put tooo much on the first time. haha ![]() ![]() After cleanup. Just used cotton swaps and paper towel. ![]() Old Mounting Clips. Actually were pretty easy to use (compared to what people say)...Just press diagonal edges at same time and repeat for other pair. ![]() New bold-on kit... I ain't complaining. ![]() Second time apply TIM. Much better i think. ![]() Mounted MOBO to case and Connected everything. Is it just me or is the top left mobo mount screw a b**** to put on? ![]() ![]() Added Logisys Blue 12" CCFL. Have to extend the switch wire with some black wire. Currently the lights are on bottom and to right vertically mounted. Gonna move vertical one to the top... just gotta extend wire. ![]() ![]() Front fan shot.... ![]() ![]() Everything in. Time to put window on and reinstall side panel. Used some of the extra strength scotch brand mounting tape. Applied a small strip I had to custom cut on to the black door molding only since the window doesn't touch the case. Pretty strong stuff... I didn't believe its strength when I saw videos but WOW... definately recommend if not using screws. ![]()

More shots. Gonna install wifi card later after finishing vista setups.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Im planing on putting the car window tint stuff on the window so that you can't see or can barely see inside unless the lights are turned on. AC Ryan panel effect. Maybe use mirror tint? I'll probably go with very dark (almost limo tint). Also planing on getting a round ide cable, and add some uv lights and paint some of the components on my board with uv. Let me know what you think. Anything else I should do? I am very satisfied with the product. just gotta do the final touches. Will post some more pics in the coming week after I get the rest of it done.
