Default new build $1k

Hello, I'm looking to build a gaming pc. I would like recommendations on an Intel quad processor, motherboard, memory, hard drive 500GB, video card, power supply, case and a heat sink for the cpu. I work most of the time so I don't have much time to game but when I do I like to play the games on nice settings on a 22 inch monitor I have. Other than gaming I play music and open lots of tabs in firefox.

Core 2 Duo E8400 189$
DFI Blood Iron P35 mobo 114$
ECS 8800gts 512MB 159$ after MIR (209$ before MIR)
2x2gb g.skill at 1000 84$
corsair 750 114$
500 gb seagate with 32mb cache 84$
Coolermaster Centurion 5 Case 59$

Choice on the CPU: Since you wont be gaming much, this processor ( E8400) is a better choice because it will run cooler than the Q6600 and you will still be able to max all settings on all current games (exept crisys ). You also have the option of overclocking it to 4ghz with good cooling:

Tuniq Tower 49$

Overall, same system as wildfire suggested with the difference being the motherboard and the cpu.
Total will come to about 900$ shipped and after tax.

My recomendation is to not take a quad. I have one and it gets bloody hot even jsut at 3.2ghz. I live in a very hot place in the summer and it doesnt help at all. I bought the Q6600 about a year ago. Between the Q6600 at 3.2ghz and the E8400 at 4ghz, there will not be a noticeable difference. It's a matter of choice really. The Q6600 will be marginally faster but the E8400 will run cooler.

As for the case: with that many fans, it pulls in A LOT of dust, which is a pain in the @$$ for me to clean. I bought it cause it is cool but I would reconsider my choice had I the experience of using it.

Nice setup but 4gb I think its just too much and I would have to run 64bits and I already bought vista ultimate 32bits, what do you think about the q9300 cpu?

Q9300 IMO isn't as good OCer as the Q6600. I would get a E8400 or Q6600 over the Q9300. Also for case I would get the CM690 or Antec P182 over both of the suggested
