Default $300 or less computer...

its for my sister's bosses's friend's daugher...

im pretty sure i can get the LCD screen for $50 or so.

just need to know wats a good mobo to get. preferably with a built in GPU.

im planning on a case that comes with a keyboard/mouse/speakers?/PSU/case...
for $70 i think...

so it comes down to $180 for the stuff inside... lol any suggestions?
clueless on the lower end stuff.

X2 lol..

At that price, it's usually best to buy pre-built.

Amd is the way to go on this budget. Look for barebone kits on TigerDirect, that's a great place to start.

Look into your local Craigslist.

I just bought a rig on there tonight.

Opty 175 s939
2gb of HyperRam
s939 SLI mobo
2 7950gts in Sli

PSU HD CASE all included, even a copy of retail XP.

All for 200 bucks.

You can find good deals if you look hard enough.

if you want to go for an AMD cpu, i would get the 780G motherboard. it comes onboard with a dx10 ati HD3000 graphic. around $80 i believe.

i'll bet you $100 dollars (not really) you can't find a motherboard and a gpu that outperforms it for that price.

EDIT: on newegg, range from around $70 - $100

CPU, $56

MB + graphic, $80

great RAM, $45

the cpu comes with a stock heatsink, so i think thats all you needed?
you have a PSU?

that comes to $181
a dollar over
