Default Build me a PC for £850

hi I was going to build a rig a few months back but never got round to it but now i have around £850 to spend.. I pretty much know basically the system I want but I thought I would see what everybody else would get for that price

I think im going to go for the new antec 1200 for the case, q6600 for the chip and a good overclocking motherboard... probably a 8800gts or 8800gtx im guessing would be the best card in my price range.....any suggestions? thanks ( dont need monitor )

also wats the best cpu cooler right now

imo E7200 owns Q6600 and 1200 is out of stock. However, have a lookasee on my build

Rig Components:
Cost: £855.36 inc. VAT

Ok Syazat please take no offence in my comments for my build

Better CPU - Quadcore is the future
TRUE - Also a great cooler with a high CFM fan, will easily do you 3.6GHz
DFI DK P35 T2RS - The superior board to the Blood Iron + RAID
High speed RAM + Better quality [G.Skill is better than OCZ in my opinion]
Definatly better GFX Card
2 AAK's in RAID0 is extremely fast
Optical drive is an optical drive
Didnt put in a soundcard, im not sound savvy
Antec 900
650w Corsair PSU - For upgrades
Vista Home premium
64bit

I can get this cheaper, i meerly used OCUK for display purposes, i believe this is a far superior build to Szavat's, and cheaper too

Let me know what you think

Thanks

Edit: If you shop around - Use Ebuyer / Microdirect / Scan - You should be able to get the above build or very similar for about £750-760 Inc VAT

This will give you free money to spend on whatever, or soundcard

IMHO, Fixions is the better build. Every part is very solid. The thing I do like about SZayat's build is the large hard drive and the Sound Card.

Fixion that's quite a nice build, but he'd need some fans for the true!
One thing that would affect this build is whether you need a monitor. Do you need one or can you use the one that you currently have?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I do like the look of fixions build over the dual core for future proofness but im still thinking about it... a ddr3 board and 2 gig of ddr3 is also tempting cus I want to keep this pc for as long as possible and probably upgrade graphics etc. in the future but i dunno yet, i could probably strech to about £900 and i dont need an OS cd

If you want to keep the pc as long as possible, wait for a few weeks for the new graphics cards to come out, I know it might seem like ages away but you'll kick yourself in the long run for not waiting. I'd suggest a Q6600, TRUE heatsink with some decent fans like the scythe Ultra Kaze, a Corsair psu, antec 1200 case and a DFI Dark motherboard if you want an intel chipset or an evga 750i if you want an Nvidia chipset, for the HDD I'd go for the Samsung F1 500gb

Don't bother with DDR3 Yet mate, 1000MHz DDR2 Will do ya fine =)

DDR3 at the moment has VERY high timings compared to DDR2, although you can tighten these timings - the Price / Performance [in my opinion] is not worth it at present

Yeah obviously he needs a fan for the TRUE

The Sycthe S-Flex isnt bad for £12 - pushes 63 CFM which is nothing to blink at, anymore and you will have to decide - noise over cooling

Watercoolingshop [Associated with OCN] sell a Lapping Kit for £8.99 if you wish to get even more performance out of your TRUE

A cheaper, higher CFM fan which is perfect for a cooler such as the TRUE is the HighSpeed Yate Loon pushing a great 88CFM @40DBA, its certainly a great fan for the TRUE - under a fiver also from watercoolingshop
