Default Need help with gaming build *now ~$700

** 12th post for my new $700 build **

I need helping with this gaming build to get best performance possible. I'll be playing Counter Strike Source, World of Warcraft, Warcraft 3 and as well would like to play the newer games that come out. I usually play at 1024x768 or 1280 x1024 resolution if that helps.

So far this is what I am planning to get...
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 - $74.99
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...873&cid=CPU.84
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L - $92.99
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...018&cid=MB.157
Galaxy GeForce 9600GT Overclocked 512MB DDR3 - $149.99 ($119.99 Mail-in-Rebate)
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...id=999.243.390
Kingston Dual Channel HyperX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2 x 1024MB) - $97.99
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...265&CatId=2264
Corsair 520HX 520W - $109.99 ($89.99 Mail-in-Rebate)
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...410&cid=PS.808

Current - $526 ($476 Mail-in-Rebate)

As you can see, I live in Canada and prefer Canada Computers or TigerDirect.

I can live without getting a newer case and I already have the monitor, keyboard and everything that doesn't belong inside the computer itself.

Suggestions/changes and completely new builds are welcome.

If you are going to be overclocking (which you DEFINITELY SHOULD), you're going to want a better CPU cooler than the one it comes with. For that CPU, a zalman 9500 or 9700 would be perfect. Just be sure to use some Arctic Silver 5 thermal grease instead of the one that comes with it.

the 9500A is freaking nasty, it beats most watercooling systems and if your smart you can find one just shy of $50

i absolutely agree with noldevin the stock cooler that comes with the penium dual cores is a tiny solid aluminum block thats only good for warping motherboards and holding down paper

You should be able to overclock past the 3ghz mark on the e2180 with a Freezer 7 pro, and its fairly inexpensive.

I'd go with an AMD 5000+ black edition for that price range. Much better chip than that "pentium dual core" garbage. Other than that, I'd say it looks good.

It seems like it's just my CPU that needs changing. Which would be better, the AMD 5000+ - $94 (can't find black edition in Canada) or the E2180 with Freezer 7 Pro - about $100? They both seem to overclock to 3GHz easily, but I'm leaning more towards the E2180.

I'm also planning to change the power supply to a Antec Trio 550W.

E2180 and Freezer 7 Pro are keepers.
Keep the HX520 psu also, it's a great unit.
