Default Noob needs help

Hi Can anyone help me?

I bought a budget p.c and now am getting interested in upgrading firstly with a better graphics card.

Processor Type Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Clock-Speed 2.4GHz
Front Side BUS 1066MHz
Cache 8 MB
Operating-System Windows Vista Home Premium
RAM Memory 3072 MB
Hard Disk Capacity 320 GB
Optical Drive 1 Dual Layer DVD Rewriter
Graphics Memory 256 MB
Graphics Description nVidia GeForce 7050
Network LAN 10/100 Ethernet

This is what i am working with. The Graphics come from the 256MB nVidia GeForce 7050 Graphics.
I have a pci e x 16 slot but not 6 pin power plug from the psu.

you get a 6pin PCI-E power convertor with the graphics card. Its allows you to convert two 4 pin connectors into the 6pin you need

same as this 1:

the 6pin connectors will come with the product by using the 2 x 4pin molex. You can get a fairly cheap videocard and still have almost the same preformance if you going to be spending $300 and up on Videocards, but for the money buck, go for the 8800 Series (GTX or the GT) .

From switching from Onboard Video to a Dedicated Graphics Card, you will have a huge performance jump in Games, its worth it

You REALLY should consider getting a new PSU. The one in there probably can't handle more than upgraded RAM and another harddrive, much less a full video card.

If he is planning to only have 1 Videocard in the system, it will be fine. But if you are going for the High End Video cards (9800GTX's or the new 280's) then a new PSU will be the best choice aswell.
