read reviews about hd 4850 and you will know its better.

even if the 4850 is better he said he wants to stay with nvidia due to linux driver support, read his edit on the first post

and 750i mobos support 45nm

Didn't catch the linux support part

9800GTX is definitely your best bet than, and maybe wait a couple weeks for the 9800GTX+? It's supposed to be one heck of a card.

55nm. 15% performance increase. (Cuda + PhsyXs? I'm not sure about that, though.)

ok, got the system up and running

idle temps are running around 39 on core 0 and 36 on core 1 (using realtemp) (ambient temp is 26.5 celcius) and sitting around 49-46 on load

thats with it overclocked to 3.6 Mhz on 1.224 vcore (i can lower the vcore, just havent tried yet)

13709 3DMarks with the current setup (the 9800gtx is clocked to 720 core and 1800 shader and stock 1100 memory)

i tried 4050 mhz and it would boot at 1.33 vcore, but crashed instantly when testing prime95 or occt, it's idle temps were about the same as now tho, i'll work on it tonight and see if i can reach my goal of 4050 Mhz
