Default $10,000 Budget

If you had a $10,000 USD budget, what would you build? Lets say you wanted to create the most powerful rig on overclock.net, would this money be enough to achieve it? Would you be able to get the best of the best parts out there? What would be the BEST choice, not your favorite or because you like it. Are we talking Skulltrial, Q9775 or what?

Thanks in advance.

You dont need 10k. Half that amount would be fine for the top of the line components.

anything that high would not help with performance, only bling.......like using a gold plated case/ an LCD screen that covers every surface of the case

you could create a HUGE SSD RAID array with 3 GTX280's and still come under 6k

Good luck with those GPU's on a SkullTrail rig, waste of moneyyyyyyyy.. Bad for benchmarking.

The skulltrail needs fb-dimm rad, or at least that's what I thought it's called. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The best part about making your own computer, in my opinion, is that you can get better results while keeping it cheap. I would never spend much above 1k for a new build with every component being new. No matter how much you spend on it, it will still be outdated at the same time as a cheaper build.
