I build this on Newegg for myself. I'm going to be a heavy gamer, and this computer also will have to multi-task between many users logged on. I also plan on getting a 4850, then getting another 48xx card to put in CrossfireX in ~1 year once their cheaper(Hence the pricey x38 motherboard, so I have two 16x slots). Is this a sound choice?
Since I can't upload Excel 07' spreadsheets as an attachment, I uploaded it to FF, for those who want to view it, in full. http://files.filefront.com/Our+compu.../fileinfo.html NOTE: I don't have a specific budget in mind yet, but if I want to cut down on something, I can easily drop Vista and the 4GB of RAM. I have plenty of XP install disks and images. For those who don't have Office 07', here are the links: Q6600: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115018 ASUS P5E: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131219 750TX: http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-tx-7...206178325.html P182: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129025 4850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102747 G.skill 4GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231145 DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827129018 TRUE: http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermalright...e-pr-3762.html Sythe: http://www.jab-tech.com/Scythe-S-FLE...G-pr-4160.html G7: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104203

Yes, the x38 is a very sound choice if you have CF planned as an upgrade, get this x38 instead DFI DK X38 T2R for $185. eveything else looks good.

I'm using the DFI DK X38 board right now, and have no complaints about it whatsoever.
