Default New build 280 dollar limit :)

I am upgrading my processor......I have found the E8400 Wolfdale and that is what i'll be using, how ever as my GA NForce650I motherboard will not support 45nm's (and no updates will come out), I need a motherboard. I am going with a GA p35 chipset board for around 90. The processor and board should be around 280. I am transferring everything else over for now, then I will get new ram. I believe the GA DS3L p35 is the only board within my budget that will support the 45 nm. I know it only has a single PCI X16 lane but that doesn't bother me too much right now since the 780 and 790 Nforce boards are out of budget. I believe this board will carry me temporarially until I am ready to upgrade to a higher SLI supported board.

comments or suggestions welcome : )

You could overclock...and it won't cost anything....

Or, you could get the best proc supported on your board, and then overclock. Your machine is really good as it is, i am jealous...

ha ha, well thanks, and yes this computer is pretty well off already, it is overclocked to 400mhz (2.4/2.8 with the 6/7 multiplyer) I just love the potential of that new 8400 though.

If you gonna upgrade the board in a short while I suggest you just save your money and get the new mobo and processor at the same time instead of blowing $90 on a crappy one to tide you over.

You should get the P45 board instead of P35 there around the same price.

yeah I may wait to get a higher board. I have checked the 750i but I'm not so sure about it, I have heard doesn't have many signifigant inovations over 650/680 chipsets, and p45 again not many sufficient gains over the p35 for the price, GA put bios update for this mobo!!! lol.
