Few questions:

1) Is it all going to fit in that case?

2) Is the psu enough? One 12v rail, 4 6+2 pcie connectors

3) would i be better off with multiple hard drives in RAID? I don't know much about raid--is it a hassle to set up?

4) Cpu cooler, good enough?

looks pretty nice...about your questions
1. yeah it should fit fine
2. I'm thinking so but thats just a guess
3. RAID is very easy to set up but a single 1tb drive should be fine...unless your worrying about backing things up...then RAID can be nice
4. I would go for something a bit better...maybe something like the tuniq tower or the TRUE

Looks a good list. May get a better cpu cooler. I would do 2x 500G RAID0. The DS4 is a good OCer so it should help the 8x chip.

1. change the CPU cooler and the thermal grease.
2. I havent heard much about that motheboard. DFI DK X38 T2R is a very good motherboard and also $185 at newegg, might want to think about that.
3. for $120 imho you can get a better case.

I would get the Asus Rampage formula instead of the Gigabyte X48.

RAID makes windows/loading noticeably faster, but has a 2x higher failure rate.

Only use RAID if you make regular backups, otherwise, stick to the 1TB HD.

When I'm building machines I get really freaked out about damaging stuff in tight areas, so I don't like to put modern stuff in Mid cases...that's just me. Video cards and your Zalman right make things a tight fit. Gigabyte makes respectable boards, sure, but the X48 chipset isn't really buying you anything over its younger brother, and DFI makes a better X38. You're DEFINITELY going to need a more powerful PSU to handle 4870's in CF...like, 1kW. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3341&p=22 Anandtech shows the 4870's in CF take more power consumption than all high-end cards except 9800GX2's in SLI (basically QuadSLI). That's a lot of juice required. Get Corsair's 1kW model, and you won't be sorry.
