Default Sig Rig Completed *Not 56k Friendly*

Well this was my first build in over 5 years and my first chance at case modding and overclocking.. I have just continually upgraded my old PC. Here are most of the parts that are being put together.

From lurking on these forums learning about the new hardware that was out, I was inspired to lightly mod my case to make cable management better. First i had to cut some holes and also extend some switch cables for the 900.

The holes were a little scared up around the edges, I didn't think of taping around the area i was gonna cut until I went back onto OCN and checked the mod forums. Holes were all sanded down and I am waiting on the C Channel to get here that I ordered and will put around the holes. I was too impatient and couldn't wait to get the PC done.

You can see the magnetic card reader that i tore apart to get cables to use for extending the switch cables. Nothing like bad parts from work to cannabalize.

after getting all that done, we put together the PC somewhat and loaded Vista64 and several other programs.

While it all loaded, i played with my buddy's pokemon puppy.

Had to stop till Monday where i brought it to my office to work on the overclocking of the cpu and gpu. These were the results.

Temperature spiked up to 60C sometime during the evening. So i went into the bio's and set all fan speeds to 100% since i forgot to do that before OCing the cpu.

The gpu didn't OC as well as i thought it would, but I'm ok with it. It gets the job done.

The mess i had to cover up in the side panel.

And the final product hanging out with me in the office.

I had a lot of fun with this build. This was the first time i had modded anything as well as OC'd a cpu and gpu. I am pretty happy with my final product and definetly happy with the rig i put together.

Thanks for checking it out. When i get some time I am probably gonna paint the chasis.

Congrats on the build! It looks very clean and professional BTW. I have the same MB and PS as you, I love them. Now you need to start benchmarking so that we can see what it does!

What did you use to hack through the back of the case for cable management?

Great looking rig.

I forgot the size of the hole saw, it was my buddy's, used a dremel to sand them down and also cut a small piece between the 2 holes i drilled for the hole by the psu.

That's really good cable management for an Antec 900. I'm impressed.

I will definetly say it was fun to mod and OC for the first time. My friend that helped me, you should of seen his reaction to cutting up a perfectly good case. When we cut the switch cables and the first hole the conversation went something like this.

Bilbrey: "Are you ready to mod for the first time?"
Me: "yep lets do this, it is only wires and holes"

Bilbrey- are you sure because there is no turning back.
Me- Yep worse case scenario i have a jacked up looking case which no one will see.

bilbrey- are you positive because i dont want to do this if you dont
me- give me the D*** tools so i can get started already!!!!!

After the first snip of the cables and drilling the first hole he got really comfortable with making cuts in the case. I think he is gonna build a PC and lightly mod it as well since both me and him are pretty proud of our work with this one.

Nice build, lol. I was looking at your boxes, then at mines in the closet(lacking a case to build it in, it's back-order), and we have quite a lot of similar pieces.

Good-looking cable management, awesome final result, first-time builder/OCer/modder here as well; I can't wait to start. :>
