not sure if this could affect it; but I just realized that q6600s are 64nm while my board is 45nm. If so, big oversight on my part, but I had originally bought this board believing it can take a q6600.

Doesnt matter CPU should work fine. Try reseating the CPU, I once bent a pin on an old build and it didnt seat right. I bent it back and it booted. Make sure ram is all the way in lol I once rebuilt a whole system just to find out my ram stick wasnt clicked all the way in.

__________________ the thermal compound was sticking to the cpu so much that it was lifting it up and sliding it over as i was seating the heatsink. so i just used the socket lever to hold it down.
