That system is fine. The only things I could change would be the HDD's and the RAM. The 32MB cache Seagates are a steal and I would go with 2x2GB of 800MHz RAM. I just built a system over the weekend with an E8400 and a DFI Lanparty Dark. Man that thing is a beauty (the system as a whole). I also installed the 9800GTX KO. It's a very nice card for a great price.

HEY HEY HEY lets not insult the WoW players here today! He said Warcraft 3 anyway, I totally different game (RTS)!!

It's not a bad build. There are somethings that you should do different (like the raptor) that would cut the costs, but it is in now way a horrible build.

It's perfect. If he wants, he can bash it here on OCN, he would never recover.

i found it ironic that he flames me for using budget cards, and HIS build had a 3870. no not even the X2......i had a 9800GTX.
Nothing wrong with it (except the DS3L isn't a raid board).
It's better than mine.

I think it's a pretty good mid-range build. Really depends on the needs and budget of the user. Maybe the user was looking for a high-end build?

If all he's playing is Warcraft, that's more than enough. The 9800GTX is now a "budget" card, but just 2-3 weeks ago it was the nvidia high-end (minus the GX2). Yes, the new GTX 200 and ATI 4800 series are awesome, but the 9800GTX is still a great card and will max out most of the things your throw at it. Unless of course you're running a 30" display.

I think that guy has too much time on his hands. Who on earth would get that upset over a forum post. On top of that, one that's not even directed towards him.

Pretty good build except for the fact that the ds3l doesnt support raid.

But it's fairly similar to a build I would like to do someday, although the ep35-ds3l replaced the one you have. Its kind of a midrange-budget build combo.
4gb of ram would be better for vista I suppose but thats no biggy.

But no reason for anyone to call you a tard!

Haha. He made fun of you? What a great forum that is...

Welcome to the OCN community. That kind of garbage isn't put up with here.

And your build is great. I would love to have that card

its alright, this loser was just flaming because his mother didn't make his pop tarts that morning.

you might want a larger drive because they are relatively cheep and its a pain to get larger after you already have a working system.

good luck!
