The build is just fine, although I would probably have gotten a nice 500GB HDD than two 160s and of course the HD 4850 is a must for that price range.

There is nothing wrong with that build. Duno why he was bent out of shape. Maybe he felt threatened that another person can build a computer too? lol Link this thread in there and then see what people think about your build

Don't let someone get you down about "your" computer. It's yours and as long as your happy with what it can and will do who cares. People like to flame the Q9300 but it does EVERYTHING I want it to and still has more power than I can use. Unless you plan on Building AI or looking for oil in Antarctica you beast is fine! The only real advice you should be looking for is advice on where to get the best price and info of know problems with your setup. As far as I can see its a sweet rig.

***?

i found it ironic that he flames me for using budget cards, and HIS build had a 3870. no not even the X2......i had a 9800GTX.
Hmm,

What game? Warcraft 3?

Excellent system! There are very few games that would make benefit from 4gb of ram. Raid 0 on the other hand, should be speedier.

Last Gen Budget card. I hardly think 8800 GTS or 9800GTX is a budget card. while the 9800 GTX isn't the wonder replacement card people hoped for, I hardly consider it a budget card. There are still people building budget systems with 8500 gt's.

I wouldn't worry what people say on that forum.

Probably just a bunch of immature people, who build all these great systems in there head, but are still in school, without jobs. Just jealous because it's not what they would build if they had 6 grand.

Bench it

I see three problems with this build, in the name of wasted money.

Throw a 4870 in there. Cheaper, performs just as well.

Lose the raid. If one HDD goes, everything goes, with just two HDD's, he can have one drive go and his other drive maintain a backup of data. With Raptors, you don't need RAID for high speed anyways.

4 gigs of ram so Vista 64 will be happy.

But hell, even in it's current config, it pwns my box so many times a mathmetician couldn't tally it up, so itt'l play anything the user wants in the end.
