Ultra Grid Mid Tower case
Ultra 600w LS600 PSU
Sony DRU190A 20X DVD
the case the psu and the dvd were $133 all together.

So now im thinking of buying :
Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 $170-180 ($140-$150 AR)
Radeon 4850 that would be $185 ($130-$140 AR)
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard $60-$70
Cpu Fan not decided yet. (anyone any recommendations??)
Any 750 Hard Drive $100-$120 ($75-$90 AR)

Grand Total of = $760-$790 (about $669AR) Before Cooler

Im buy the most i can on ebay to take advantage on this ebay 25% off thing:
http://www.overclock.net/online-deal...y-buy-now.html
Many thx to Astroz for saving me lots of money.

Any Recommendations??
Also i cant go past this amount of money my goal at first was 500 but oh well i can deal with this but no more than 800.

Im not sure if I should run vista or xp on this computer...
maybe xp for now and when i get more Ram (6gb) i will upgrade to vista.

Hello again

get some g.skill 1066 ram instead of the ballistix. They're more popular and they are sick overclockers. The Arctic Freezer Pro 7 is a pretty decent budget cooler for around $30 shipped or a nice alternative is the OCZ Vanquisher at $20.

looks like a pretty good build, glad you decided to splurge a little bit more.

You are going to want to look for the newer version of the Gigabyte DS3L board, the GA-EP35-DS3L. Or if you can swing a few extra bucks the ep43, and ep45 versions support PCI 2.0

For a cpu fan I would recommend the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 its a great performer and is only 27 after MIR.

Xigmatek or AC Freezer for the CPU cooler
Seagate/WD 640GB HD

Everything else looks good.

Ok, I have mixed emotions about this post. Ballistix are SICK overclockers as well. Popularity is not a significant factor when it comes to performance.

An additional warning, you may have conflicts with the Ballistix and your P35 board. One main reason why Crucial stuff has been so cheap lately (rebates & sales) is because many people have been having problems with the Ballistix and P35/X38 chipset. The problem is recognized by Crucial, as I had the Crucial Ballistix Tracers DDR2-1000 and returned them for credit because of all the problems I had.

Buyer beware, you may have no issues, but you could run into problems. See how it goes once you pop em in there. If you get any sort of blue screens, try returning RAM.

Be positive! The RAM OC's very well, and is great for most people. There are also a portion of people who don't have luck. I think you'll be ok. Worry about the rest of your pc for now!
