__________________-That is the PSU I'm going with... -I dont think that the Q9650 is worth the extra money...specially if i can get e0 q9550 -I will Consider the Gskill ram and look into it, but i don't really plan on overclocking the ram... But this Gskill set is cheaper than the Corsair... -I'm sticking with the Noctua cooler -and I've already purchased the WD Blk Caviar HD, no turning back now.

I think the E0 stepping of the Q9550 is slightly over-hyped, i'm sure there are slight overclocking advantages but to be fair im running a C1 Q9550@4.0GHz!! at 1.38V, and it doesent go above 55c whilst gaming hard hours on end.
![]() So if i were you i wouldnt worry about spending a bit more trying to get a E0 just save up for a 4870X2! you know you want one!

__________________-Ok, I think I'm going to go ahead and order everything tonight then, I'm tired of waiting on e0 anyways. -4870x2 is only good when your running lots of resolution right? Their is a minimal difference when your not running really high resolution? I think I'm going to stick with the 4870, maybe when prices drop I will upgrade to x2. If my gaming lags, I will step it up sooner! iceblade^: -Yea.. I've heard more about the Corsair then the Gskill, I was sticking with Corsair. -I will stick with IDE, i can always switch later, it's not like burners are expensive anyways...I can remember when CD burners were 200 dollars... what a rip. -I'm going to stay with 4gb ram for now, upgrade to 8 later I think

Well... I received my parts in the mail the last couple of days. I did not realize how big the CPU Heat sink is and the Haf932 is HUGE. I could hide inside that thing if need be.! I got an E0 CPU!! that is cool, ordered it from newegg. I think that my Video card might be bent?? Look at the pictures in the next post and tell me if its normal??
__________________I started putting some of the part in but ran in to some things that i was unsure of. -Do i need to clean the CPU and the Heatsink with ArctiClean Thermal Surface Purifer even thought i've never applied thermal paste before?? -Which thermal paste should i use? The Noctua NT-H1 that came with my Noctua Heat sink or the Arctic Silver - 5 ??? -Do i put the 4870 on the bottom PCI slot of the top? They are both PCIx16. The bottom slot would be closer to the PSU versus being closer to the CPU/RAM. -Does it matter the orientation of the heat sink on the CPU? If i only have one fan attached to it should it be facing down towards the 4870/PSU or up towards the top fan??

holy crap that is bent pritty bad i would exchange you never know what problems it might cause later on. Plus later on they might not let u rma since they might think you had something to do with it being bent. If I were you I would try to exchange it to avoid possible problems.

__________________Its already in the mail! RMA was so easy and fast with newegg! Like you said, it might cause problems later on. I will have some pictures of my build in a couple of days. I do not know what to do with all of the extra power cables coming from my PSU? Any ideas? I also plan on making panty hose filters like Bradical did, and i will do the same for the bottom under the PSU vent.

Well i bought another 4870 while waiting on my other 4870 from Newegg. I have all the components installed.
__________________When i turn on the computer for the first time it turns on then a few seconds later turns right back off, and then keeps trying to boot up. It seems that all of the fans, CPU fan, case fans, video card fan, and ram fans turn on. Sometimes it takes longer to reboot, I see the BIOS screen flash on the monitor and it acts like it is going to boot up and then it turns off again. I even got a normal beep a couple of times before it restarted. Any ideas?
