I'm curious as to what you mean by side fan mod on the Cosmos S. I have one and am aware of the limitations imposed by the door fan by tower coolers. Seeing as coolermaster has not released the updated cosmos S (with the fan moved lower) can you clarify?

Also on a side note, you obviously went to the effort (and funds) to get top tier parts but why a KDS monitor?

that would be a more or less accurate statement

I need to find something stable around 4.0GHz and then Ill work on bringing the temps down. I'm at like 53C idle right now but its kinda warm in my room and the rig is in a slightly confined space, so I need better ventilation.

Good god lol. I would say try a Small FFTs test on Prime 95, but that might be too much

Holy god, that's a lot of volts to be giving that cpu. And thats reported after v droop. I would back off a bit. Bring yourself down to a 4ghz oc and spend more time messing with it until you can drop the voltage a TON. You shouldn't need that much to get a 4.2 overclock.

Other than that, nice build man, very sexy.

I had to re-learn OCing because the last thing I used was a C2D so I could deff use some help. What voltages should i be looking for? the evga BIOS does weird stuff if you leave anything on AUTO like putting 1.7volts thru the RAM, so I need some direction.

edit: I actually have vdroop off

finally have it stable at 3.8GHz and memory at 1600MHz 8-8-8-24
putting 1.305v for Vcore and a few other minor adjustments, will be working for a stable 4.0GHz soon, hopefully with some help. Temps dropped drastically and I believe that E Leet is reading about 7-8C higher than actual, I have tried several other programs and RealTemp seems to be the most accurate.

YouTube - Cosmos S fan mod for long heatsinks ( thermalright ultra 120 )

Well, instead of cutting the fan, for right now I have it mounted on the outside with the outer mesh screen removed. I will be buying a sheet of plexiglass and cutting it to the shape of the interior panel, and drilling fan screw holes that are slightly lower and to the right from the outside of the case. This will give me clearance for my heatsink, plus a cool plexi window if I want to keep the screen off.

i answered the fan mod part in my previous post, but about the KDS monitor, I kind of hit my fund limit and I wasnt satisfied with my 20.1" Dell screen and I just wanted something big and cheap, and so far it has been awesome, absolutely 0 dead pixels, excellent color, response time and brightness, plus it takes up almost all of my field of vision so its sick for gaming.
