Default Thanks Guys! Now for the next step...

I just wanted to thank everybody who helped me to design/build my new computer! I don't know if it will automatically show my system, but I have:

E6600 2.4 GHZ
EVGA 750i FTW
GTX 260 Core 216
2 x 2 GB OCZ SLI ready 800 Mhz
Corsair 750TX PSU
XigmaTek S1283 CPU heat sink
...All in a Cooler Master 690 case

I know a lot of guys out there helped me with all the questions I had, and I wanted to thank you guys for it. But, now I want to move on to overclocking... I'm running about 29C idle, and I've been running prime95 for about 30 minutes and I'm at 46C (temps by CoreTemp)

Are those temperatures low enough to even consider overclocking? Or should I run prime95 a little longer?

Alright....I just ran the Intel Burn Test for about ~45 minutes, and the highest temp I seen was 54C....you think that would be alright for overclocking? I just wanted to overclock via the FSB for now, and maybe mess with vcore later..

Yes- stay under 70 and you're good. >70 = crash

Your temps are really high for some reason.. did you mount your cooler right? Apply thermal paste properly?

My E8400 @ 4ghz with a whopping 1.358v never goes past 48 degrees load and I have the same heatsink. Idles 27.

I doubt you'll get far with just FSB though. My favorite way is to bump up the volts to 1.36 right off the bat (max. safe V) and then slowly increase FSB until unstable. an E8400 can normally get to 3.6Ghz (+0.6ghz) with stock volts so yours might manage 0.3 - 0.4ghz without tampering with the voltage.
