Default First Intel E8400 - finished (25.1.09)

so...
after 3 long long years with my current rig i went out today and bought some hardware, the shopping list is the following one:
  • Cpu - tray E8400
  • Mobo - Asus P5Q pro
  • Mem - G.Skill 4GB DDR2-900 PI Black
  • Hdd - WD3200AAKS
  • DVD-rw - ASUS 2014L1T
  • HSF - Scythe ninja 2 / AC alpine 7 (for my old pc)
  • misc - 1m eSata to eSata cable

the only thing missing is 4 1T samsung F1 hdds that will come next week.

the rest of the rig is my "old" P180, VX450W and 4850.

i'll build the rig this weekend and post some normal pic, this one are made using my nokia 6120C (don't have a normal cam)

some new pic
the cpu, mobo and mem

first fit for the ninja, i have several problems, the mem is too tall so no fan from that side.
the bolt kit i got won't work with the ninja 2, but will work for ninja 1 (my old one) i'm using the push pins but the mobo bends, not too much but still

and here is a small run outside the pc (i really should build a rack)

Just take the pushpins off the new ninja and use the bolt thru kit with existing ninja-2 mountings. Thats what I did on my andy.

Looks like a nice build, should certainly be a nippy wee thing.

I just got the exact same mobo, and i have that cooler too. I had to use an 80mm fan just to clear the ram. If you have good air flow you wont need one anyway, unless you are going to OC. Nice build!
