Default Hows this combo?

I decided to step up the combo that askthem recommended for me a little. I'm thinking about a Gigabyte EP45 UD3R board with a Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0, with an Asus 4670 512, and 4G of G.skill ram, and the Corsair 400w PSU. I'm reusing my hard drive and dvd drive for now. Any better recommendations or incompatibility issues known. How will these part OC? I want to play all the BF games and the COD's and maybe some newer more demanding games in the future.

I'd get a slightly beefier power supply

I scored this one for 40 bucks and in the future I plan on the 1000w Corsair or P&C. Do you think it will suffice for a while or will I have problems?

That psu should be fine for what you've got now. The build plan looks solid. I'm not a gpu expert, but I thinkt he 4670 is pretty dated now. You would probably be better off with a 4830 (probably no more expensive) or higher if you can afford it.

You also might want to look at the UD3P as IIRC it adds crossfire support which would be useful if you wanted to add another card later.

You'll want a heat sink for the cpu if you plan to overclock.

good luck!

Wife needs it for day to day stuff and I want to play games. I wanted to stay at around 300 but I'm already at 500 with tax and shipping with this combo. So I guess 501 is my limit. (This all started with a simple video card upgrade, and then I found out that my system is not upgradeable to an acceptable level).

Hey, another thought. Should I use DDR2 1066 memory instead of the 800 I have selected.(The board says that 1066 is the standard). Does it make a big difference in performance?
