games don't use more than 2 cores. XD only at very low resolution there is a boost in fps gtx 285 is just basically a 10% faster and 55nm revision of the gtx 280, but the 280s are really cheap now so they will do just fine. Quote:
![]() the 920 can hit 4ghz pretty easily- many here have done it. but a good build: Q9550 EVGA 750i FTW 4GB 1066 RAM corsair 1000w 3x Seagate 500GB 32MB Cache 7200.11 HDD in raid 0 (250mb/s read) 3x GTX 280 SLI antec 900 / case of your choice Lots of FPS there and gtx 280 3-way is pretty much the very top end, other than 3x SLI GTX 285 if you like i7... i7 920 ASUS P6T (it preforms better than evga x58 and intel smackover) 6GB 1333 or 1600 RAM Corsair 1000W PSU 2x Seagate 500GB 32MB Cache 7200.11 HDD in raid 0 (180mb/s read) 2x GTX 280 SLI (or just 2 gtx 260 core 216s will be more than enough)

920 the better bang for your buck without sacrificing any real speed, saves enough to buy that 3rd vga card.

Before ordering anything, read up on Overclocking the i7's. They are a new breed and the script is a little different. A read may help you in your parts selection.
