Default Finally pulled the trigger... Settled for E8400

Well after debating on whether or not to get a Phenom II 940 or an i7 920 or a Q9650, I finally decided to stay reasonable with my build. After all, for every dollar I spend under $3k, that goes straight into my car modding budget. With warm weather just around the corner, I have my eye on an intercooler and a JB3 or Procede V3 for my 335i, so it seemed more worth it to build a puter for $1200 and put $1800 into the car for what should be a bit over 400bhp. Anyway, I'm off topic...

I was going to go Foxconn Destroyer with Phenom II, but I've been waiting for them to restock it for a week or so, and it disappeared off their inventory. So I decided on the BlackOps instead, and an E8400, which will suit my needs for now just fine. By the time I need a quad, I'll just get a 9650, which won't be very expensive anymore.

Intel Core2Duo E8400
Foxconn BlackOps
CoolerMaster V8
OCZ Urban Elite DDR3 1600 2x2GB
Sapphire 4870 1GB
750GB Western Digital Caviar Black
PCP&C 750W ugly-ass red PS
CM 690 with clear side panel
Sunbeam fan controller and 4 extra Logisys 120mm fans
Asus 1920x1080 2ms 21.5" LCD
Logitech Z-4 speakers
LG DVD Burner
Free Stalker game (umm yay I guess)

TOTAL was about $1300. Not bad, but I'd like to invest in a WC loop or two after I figure out the limitations on air.

And no more than an hour after I pulled the trigger, I get an email from newegg. The Destroyer was back in stock . I would have preferred SLI and the Phenom II, but I'll take the X48 and 8400.

I've been on XS for a while researching these mobos so I know what a potential PITA I may have on my hands. I'm cool with it though.

Great rig, My only question is why buy another e8400, youve got one in your sig? seems to me I'd want to at least change CPUs for something different, or did you sell the sig rig?

Spend it on the car or the computer...I know that feeling, The computer has kept the procharger from being installed on my 05 mustang gt for 6 months now. It's going to be hard to spend 4k on installation and dyno tuning so I need to be content with my PC before I start that project.

When I originally built my sig rig a year and a half ago, it kept the Weiand off my '68 GTO for a month or two.
