[Build Log] Silent Dream V2 + Folding Rig Complete Overhaul
I've finally got the parts that I've wanted for the past 2 months to put in both my sig rig (Silent Dream) and my secondary folding rig.
So starting off: My old chip... Q6600 with a 1.3125 VID... yuck.  And a fresh new Q6600, ready for some action... This time with a VID of 1.2125  courtesy of charliemack   And the motherboard that it is going into... still sexy as hell IMO   And where did that other lapped Q6600 go? Why, my folding rig of course!  An old Delta Server power supply, which had run my 8800GS and E1200... RIP, may you never be used again (which I highly doubt  ) And in comes the new... power supply? Yes, its the one from my sig rig, but you'll understand later... 800W of juice, what could he be powering with this beast?  What's this?  Its...  a...  Its a boy!  How bout twins?  What can you buy for $80 from craigslist? Another 8800GTS! steal!  Oooo... smexy! Funny how my folding rig is more powerful than my sig rig...  And some 68ohm resistors, as required by CD's instruction  Complete! x2  A small snack while I start on my sig rig...  And now for the good stuff! Thanks to all who recomended this power supply to me!  I... don't really have anything to say here...  Jeez... power supplies that come in velvet packing? (Don't tell anyone that I petted the bag for a while... ) IT'S AN OCTOPUS!!!  This is the nicest sticker that I've ever gotten with a computer part...  Love the finish... awesome paint job...  Time for some sleeving... just making the sata cables look slightly nicer, and to not have the red stand out so much...  Ack! Stuck!  All done, I only sleeved the first couple inches because thats all that I can see when I plug it in... you'll see...  "Kinda" lapped TRUE... its kinda scuffed up now, but I'll lap it sometime late  At least its still shiny...  Used OCZ Freeze, still my favourite TIM atm because of 0 curing time, and ease of application + spreading  TIM in place, spread evenly.. sorta

No warping, even with a rubber grommet pressure mod...
 Did some cable management, hid the USB and power connections underneath the motherboard  Also hid the exhaust fan's cable underneath the motherboard, along with my exterior cold cathode light molex plug (the red and black wire)  Sleeved a Zalman fan controller wire (you'll see it later on)  Ultra Kaze Sleeved  What's this? Another new card for me?  And then I "jizzed in my pants"  Uh oh... what happened here? I was cutting some cable ties off when I accidentally cut one of the SATA cables in half... *sigh* there goes my sleeving job...  The card is installed, and takes up a ton of room... still looks sexy xD  And, the finished product! I'll need to tidy up a bit of the cables underneath, but in due time...

oohhh nice stuff there!!..lol@ "jizzed in my pants". That q6600 should do you nicely, ive got 1.2125 vid on mine and it clocks nicely..you could hit 4 ghz stable on it provided you have the cooling.
