Dammit I hate geting $300 mobo with a dmaged package. It's a frigging insult.

Xclio PSU

Why the solid aluminum? It just makes it heavier. Does look Badass though

Waiting on RAM and Heatsink now.

Everything I needed arrived today and we got the rig together and I gotta say the Mugen is doing a great job. 30C idle.

The Xclio has short cables...especially the 8 pin so I had to get inventive with routing that...otherwise I managed to get most ofthe cabling the way I'd like it.

I made three of these when the A900 first came out. I sold the Blue one and gave the Red one to my Brother in Law.

And my Son wanted the Green one

The Xclio 750

Installing the PSU. THere is a hole in the bottom ofthe case and tall feet so the PSU canbe flipped and the cables routed up the blindside panel.

The Brain

The Cooler

The Base of the Mugen is flawless

As big as it is it's not as heavy as it looks.

There is room for an additional fan up top on the Mugen but the RAM is too tall for a fan on the front.

PSU Vent

I made three of these too

I dunno because I didn't do a before and after test.

On my P35 UT that had a similar cooler it seemed to make a significant drop in Chipset temps.

At Idle I see 30C CPU 30C CHipset and 40C PVM

under 100% load after 8 hours I see 43C CPU 37C Chipset and 47C PVM

This is everything stock (2.67 or w/e)

THey should have made it large to cover the whole rear fan IMO.

You can also mount the thing internally but it doesn't make much sense....the idea is to get the hot air out of the case.

Airflow is apparently CRITICAL with this set up. I turned off one front fan and turned the others down low and temps shot up dramatically.

Since my last post CPU is 46, Chipset is 39 and PVM is 50.

So it's clear that the heatpipes do work (on the board at least right?) and that the board requires a decent airflow at all times.

Sorry for the late bump, that setup looks great. I see that you used black PI ram which has large heat spreaders preventing you from mounting the fan on the side of the Mugen 2. If you were to use normal ram without the large spreaders do you think the fan could be mounted on the side to blow out the back of the case? what about a 38mm thick fan?
