My intention is to eventually run triple crossfire with a 4870 and a 4850x2, do you think a 650 or 750 will cut it? Am I ok even with an 850?

4870 is a 150w and 4850x2 is a 220w GPU. The Corsair 750tx should be fine. The antec 850 is a very good psu but just too expensive. May be the $115 Corsair 850tx. That saving would allow you add another 4870 right now.

I'm getting $60 off for buying the antec with the case so it only ends up being $50 more than that corsair. I've always been really interested in what makes these upper echelon Antecs more expensive and their website really hypes a lot of the "features" of the PSU so I'm gonna stick with it and see if it's really worth extra $$$.

Thanks for the awesome info though

You don't need 12GB. It's as simple as that.

I don't think with that memory that he will be able to run it at 1600mhz either.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "need"?

Is that some kind of tongue in cheek remark?

Anyway, why do people think the ram won't get to 1600? Theres a lot of reports of people getting there both with factory timings and with 7-7-7-20 all on i7s.
