Hello all, I am getting ready to purchase this build very soon. I'm mainly going to use it for gaming and watching Blu-Ray/HD DVDs on a 1920x1200 resolution monitor. Well, I'd appreciate any comments made about this build, and of course, any suggestions are welcome as well.

As they said, Swap the heatsink for something better, Xigmatek for the win?

+1 on the xiggy and I wouldn't pay extra for the SC version of that card. Most vanilla versions will clock quite a bit higher than stock, but that's totally your choice. Other than that it looks like an awesome build!
EDIT: I would order the a900 from amazon as it has free shipping right now, I'm guessing it will cost $15 or so to ship from newegg. .. http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Nine-Hun...7788954&sr=8-1

seems like a good build the only thing i would change is the case to an antec 1200 if you got the cash.. you could always use stock for now.. then upgrade to a xiggy later on.. if you want good stock cable management the 1200 is awesome

![]() i know it's a bit above budget, but i'm not that skilled with newegg builds, tbh. not to mention that you can get the Antec 900 from Microcenter for cheaper if you have one nearby. you can also do the same with the i7 and save about $70. also, you can drop Vista Ultimate, and use the wwindows 7 beta, and then get a copy when the OS releases. i'm sure someone on here can refine this and improve upon it.

I'd go Phenom II if I were you. Even in Super PI, AMD's worst enemy, the Phenom II's have just about caught up with a little overclocking, and in everything else, they're leagues ahead. Does depend on the benchmark though. They're basically a budget core i7. And right now, you can get a $225 790FX top of the line motherboard for ~$60 with the Phenom II 940.
__________________If you're sticking with this moderately overpriced build though (E8400s have been the same price since June), do get a Dark Knight for the included LGA 775 bracket. And just a heads up, the P45 boards don't support SLI, only Crossfire.
