So i got around to building my new rig these are the parts i choose.
__________________Cpu: q9550 (Imo great price/performance i would have gone for the q9650 but did't quite have the cash) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45C-UD3R (Great overclocking board and since i have no plans to xfire saved a couple $ over the ud3p) Ram: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (heard alot of good things about G.skill) Gpu: XFX GX260NADFF GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 (Great card with a great company that offers double lifetime warrenty)(Plus it came with a free game and promo code for $10 off) Psu: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W (I have had a corsair before and Its still going after 3 years) HardDrive: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM (HEard alot of good things about Wd) Case: Antec Three Hundred Black Steel (heard alot of good things about the antec series of cases) Cpu cooler: OCZ OCZTVEND2 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler (From the reviews i have read a good cooler not as good as a true but also about 25-30 cheaper) My budget was $1000 not counting mir i ended up paying $965 with some other minor things (A old game that i had lost the cdkey for some thermal paste and a mounting bracket for the heatsink) If i get the mir's it will come to 900 even. Now i just have to wait till it get here! Then i can overclock that q9550

seems a good rig, though in dollars, can't you build a core i7 rig for $1000?

I tried that i made a ton of i7 rigs only got 2 under $1000 and both included parts from cheap/bad companies so i decided to go with a rig that was made from good companies.
__________________What really kills i7 builds at this point is the x58 board are all 200 and up and ddr3 is not cheap either That and i wanted a stable rig instead of being intel's test monkey using there i7's :0

Looks good but I prefer EP45-UD3R if you go with ddr2 ram. I like the board either supports drr2 or ddr3 ram but it is just personal preference thou.

Great build!
I wouldn't honestly consider i7 unless you absolutely need to have the latest and greatest. That rig (assuming you made it mostly for gaming) will be able to keep up with games for quite a long time, so wasting more money on an i7 rig wouldn't really make much sense irght now. Let us know how it goes when you get it going! Have fun!
