Not too familiar with this case but it looks like it should be good. Seems like decent cable management and big enough to fit a GTX260. I don't know how good the fans are and the specs of them aren't on Newegg or the NZXT site. You can always buy new fans later on.

Kinda late but:

Is this $1000 for the box only?

Or do you need a monitor and peripherals included in the price?

Edit: Yes I see your previous post clueless you also need a monitor and mouse/keyboard and possibly speakers or a headset if you are gaming.

You will not need more than 4GB until 2011, and programs use more RAM.

A side note: im not reading it all but; when you get over 6 gigs the more you get the more uselessness you get (citing from a cnet and toms hardware article.) in fact if you have more than 5gb in any vista distro it starts chacheing more, thus slowing you down more than if you had less.

Go with an E8600 or a Q9550 with a 780i FTW motherboard. Then, get a GTX285 and a 9600GT (one for main gaming another for physX and additional monitors etc). SLI isn't worth the money in my opinion.

Then get a nice Lian Li case, and a nice power supply, and a nice monitor all of your choice

Go with 4GB of RAM. You'll never use anything more than that, plus when you add more you can't overclock it as much and tighten your timings as much as you would with 4GB.

Here's my build. Includes the box, monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers.

Comes to $1101.82 before taxes, shipping and before MIR's. $20.00 MIR on the Samsung monitor and $10.00 MIR on the video card.

$1071.82 after MIR.

Antec Three Hundred - $59.95

Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard - $109.99

Sapphire Radeon HD 4770 512MB - $109.99

Razer Arctosa Silver Keyboard (I love this keyboard) - $44.99

Xigmatek S1283V CPU Cooler
- $39.99

Logitech Z-2300 2.1 Speakers (high quality for budget price) - $99.99

Razer DeathAdder Mouse - $49.99

2x WD Caviar Black 640GB (AAKS) Put these in a RAID 0 array. You won't be disappointed. - 2x $69.99 = $139.98

Antec 550W Modular PSU Great price. - $54.99

G.Skill 2x2GB PC2-8500 (1066MHz) RAM - $58.99

Samsung 2033SW 16:9 1600x900 20" 5ms response time Beautiful monitor. - $169.99

LG 22x DVD Burner - $22.99

AMD Phenom II 720 BE 2.8 GHz (Triple-core) Great performance for the price. - $139.99

This system will play every game maxed out except Crysis (at 1600x900 resolution). If you want to max out Crysis on this system; DX10 on Very High settings, you will need to upgrade the video card to a Radeon HD 4870 1GB.

If you want you can go with a cheap mouse and keyboard to drop the final cost. You can also drop a hard drive but I would advise you not to.

Mind you this is not including an OS. If you want an OS added; do what I said above - drop a hard drive and go with a cheaper mouse/keyboard.

Good luck!

Edit: You can also drop the RAM to PC2-6400 (800MHz) variant to knock off another $10-15.

1) Do I really need a 650w power supply or can I drop it to something cheaper?

2) I decided on a Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon 4850, which has an extremely quiet fan. Are 3 120mm fans on the case enough or should I get another fan set? (I'd prefer not to, but don't want anything melting)

I gave up on the dual hard drive idea. Money's getting REALLY tested and I'm pushed into the 1200 region. I don't get a lot of viruses anyway; Even if I did I can deal with them easily.

Speakers, 10 bucks. I'm not fussy about music. Keyboards, 18 bucks. Mouse, I went for a decent one. 30 bucks.

Does anyone know a good, REALLY cheap, 19-inch moniter? The decent one I found on Tigerdirect was 139.99.
