Thermal paste should be OCZ Freeze and I suggest you get a new cooler, the HDT1283 isn't very good.

wha? I though it was a pretty decent cooler for the price, seeing as xigmatek kinda came up with the whole HDT thing. lol

should of gotten the EVGA x58 classified, cost more but i think you could of taken something out for it.

AS5 is fine. OCZ freeze just seems to be the new fad, like the True or the Megahalems. Sure they work, but sometimes pricey. What you bought is fine
