looks good so far
if you go AMD, which i dont recommend since im intelfan.make sure you goet a AM3 COU and board to b good for the future. also if you are on a budget for a graphic card elts say under 150$, get a gts 250 or a HD 4850,maybe even a cheap 4870, and if you go for gaming, maybe get the e8400, lil more $$ for tons of more options in my opinion also corsair makes outstanding PSU's, but to save you money so you can order better graphic card/CPU, maybe take a look at these PSU's they are just as new, but are half prize, and perform outstanding. http://csxstore.coolermaster-usa.com...b8e5c352b25f36 and then maybe this CPU combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.190236 good luck and have fun building it

You could still get a sweet Phenom II 940 (or of course the X3, since it will game very very well) and a 790FX/GX mobo for a good price and some 1066 DDR2 to boot. Save some jingle going that route and beef up the GFX cards. You could still go Nvidia if you wanted to, but a couple 4850's (Corsair 750TX PSU would be perfect for this) in CF will play games very very well. One place not to skimp on is the PSU. I wouldnt save money for a slightly better GPU by skimping on the PSU. Id look to trim cost elsewhere. Definitely look for a very good PSU and fortunately Corsair makes a very good one, and is very well priced for their performance.

Dude, Phenom II Tri-core 720 BE plus a Gugabyte 790x will be up to par if not faster than an e8400 + w/e motherboard. Honestly, If you want most bang for the buck, you HAVE TO go AMD whether it's their GFX or procs.
And as you can probably see, My opinion is not biased as I own Intel lol.

what to get first would def be a motherboard, cpu, psu, gpu, case, hsf, hdd, ram. there a deal on OCZ Reapers 1066 on Newegg for $36AR. and def get the gtx260/216. they could be had for ~$160 if you wait awhile. as for cases, get them while they are on sale. they probaly wont go on sale for a very very long time again

More or less the Ati/AMD combo is focused toward value and really giving you the most for what you pay for. They have less marketshare and are relatively small scale. Intel/Nvidia are geared toward being the latest and greatest, with more marketshare and huge budget/scale.
So generally Cutting edge(or bleeding edge for that matter!) will almost always belong to the latter option, but everyone has their preference. If you don't have a lost of cash to throw around I would recommend the former option. BTW: If you go for the GTX 200 series GPUs you can run any game, ever, fast.
