Phase 2 - Water Cooling: Classified full board block from EK
EVGA Step-UP: Quad SLI GTX 295 Co-Op

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi guys!

I hope this doesn't come across as anything other than excitement But my parts are finally coming in and I'm so excited I thought I'd log my progress as they arrive.

I have always built my own machines but this one is waaaaaay over due. And as I'm using it for video editing, 3D modeling on Maya etc I need to build a machine that will be great straight out of the box....and stable!

However, my GPU search led me to the 285 (which I will SLI when more cash comes) so I will be gaming on this...especially as I sold the 360 to pay for some bits

I WILL be OCing when I've gotten used to the machine and I WILL be going WC when I do start pushing the rig. So please don't flame me...this rig is to last and I have the headroom to expand There's no point in buying cheaper only to have to upgrade later on IMHO.

You will see in my sig v against the items I have paid for. They have started to arrive now and I'm really excited so please forgive me if this seems egotistical as I just wanted to share.

I'm very happy with my choices and I in no way just went for the most expensive for the sake of it. In fact...my researching has battered my head!

I'll just start posting pics of things as they arrive and then pics of my final build. If that sounds crap...let me know

Please note: I know a lot of peeps here think my rig is too much etc etc so there is no need to tell me "you should have gotten a 920" and "why go for the classified when you could have got a cheaper one" etc. I know this but there is method to my madness...like stock stability

I love the look of coolers these days and the TRUE is a beautiful piece of engineering IMHO. I will be getting an extra fan so I can pull also.

The HX1000 is very well equipped and seems to be very well made.

I went for the Zalman GS1000 because it has what I want but also it's pretty good looking for the price. I really don't like the look of cases that seem to be from a Judge Dredd film

I heard some say it's quality isn't too good but not mine...it's well built. The shinny plastic has actually worked.

It's got tons of internal space and I like the HD mounting. I'd have liked a front fan but as most of the case is exhaust vents then I guess there will be airflow pulling through the HDs.

Sorry for the poor pic.

This is why I put the note in the first post I got the 965 for a good price (£550) and there was no way I could have gotten 3 285s.

Will do It'll be a while as most of my current stuff isn't owned by me but I will defo post my work as it comes. This rig will free up a lot of the creativity that slower rigs can smother.
