Thank you for the information, I will recompile my list and see what's next.

As for the Antec 1200 rad it is on their website
http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=ODM3

You indicated, no fan for the Ram you recommended, should I look into a RAM fan? or do without?

Again many thanks

For CPU cooling I would recommend the Thermalright IFX-14 or Scythe Mugen 2 for less money.

XbitLabs reviews i7 CPU coolers

For your dual video card setup, I would recommend Radeon 4890's

Good choice on the D0 920 as they will overclock really well up to ~3.8Ghz on air and over 4Ghz on water cooling. So there's no real need for extreme processors for us overclockers.

Corsair Dominators DDR3 2000, go for it if you can afford them

If not then the 1600 ones will do just fine

For for X58 Motherboard I would go with the ASUS P6T SE becuase of its good price, supports DDR3 2000 and has 3 PCIE x16 slots.

Don't mind the newegg reviews, it has been established that there a lot people who try to put together computers without the proper knowledge they need to do so and therefore making many mistakes and then going on Newegg to rant about it.

Good luck with your build!

Thank you for the information I have been reading the links you provided.

I will come back to the video question later as I am still loking into it however I have been wondering about the sound card. The Asus Rampage extreme 2 has on board sound, would this be acceptable or should I be looking into a dedicated sound card?

Another question, this one on the hard disks. I have looked into the WD Velociraptor 10000 rpm vs the WD rated at 7200 would I see a big difference between them??

On a similar note I also looked into the Solid State drives. Would a SSD for the O/S be worthwhile or save the money and invest it into the 10000 rpm velociraptor.

thank you in advance for your time.

ok, first off, I may be looking at options that are way beyond what my present needs are and I am aware of this but I do enjoy the high end stuff and thruth be told it usually last's a bit longer before you have to upgrade.

The first question I have since I seem to have read myself into total confusion, if you go with I7 and let's say a 965, is water cooling mandatory? If I am not going to over clock for a while, is air sufficient? I would not wish to buy an expensive chip and end up burning it since everybody here agrees it runs hot.

The next question, I was looking into the Antec 1200 case. I have always liked bigger cases but will this one sound like an airplane? I have seen other suggestions such as Haf 932, CM Sniper but if Antec is not too loud I would consider it.

The next one gets down to the motherboard, here is where it gets confusing.

Asus P6T6 Revolution
Asus P6T6 Deluxe 2
Asus Rampage Extreme II
EVGA Classified X58

I do a lot of video editing, CS3 and CS4 type work and was planning on 2 4870 or 295's.

Last question for now, for the power unit do I have to go 1000W?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions I look forward to reading them and learning more.
air cooling is fine with a good case and cpu cooler even if you plan to OC.
I'm running 3.99 on a core i7 920 on air. 38 C idle 70c load.
I have a Cooler Master V8 cpu cooler - its like 2 and 1/2 months old and like new with all accessorys.
Also have a few fans and corsair memory cooler not being used anymore.

edit: I can't sell stuff yet (picts for your enjoyment)
