I fear a faulty motherboard, cause it will take me forever to figure out whats wrong. So Please any insight on this from owners/testers. EVGA LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI FTW

Yogi very good finds, I will go with that. I have a Termalake Purepower 500W that should be able to power everything for now. Barring unforeseen circumstances I will order this on the weekend. Then the dreaded BIOS, but that's for another thread.

And I may have exaggerated in those posts, I do occasionally play CompanyOfHeroes and SplinterCell.

You don't need a nvidia board as you only play bf2 meaning you will never need to use sli. It does seem a bit overkill for bf2, why not look at the gtx275 or GTS250?

Save your self some money.

To be completely honest if hes only playing bf2 he can drop down to a 8800, 2gb ddr2 800mhz, 2.6Ghz C2D, and any old motherboard as sli is a non issue.

As a refrence, my 2.38GHz C2D Conroe + GTX 280 + ddr2 800mhz gets over 200fps in bf2 with everything completely maxed and with resolution forced at 1680x1050 and vsync on.

I only suggested that because he may not want to buy second hand seeing as you can't buy the 8800's new anymore.

He may as well stick with the same cpu, just for the fact that it is 45nm meaning that it will run cooler. Although he will more than likely run it at stock.

As for the other parts I'll try to save some money by recycling from my old PC.
Looks good. A bit much for that game but get them in case you add others games. If the budget of the ram is around $50, you can take a look at this. Oced E8500 can take up to 100w and GTX260 is a 182w GPU. Make sure your psu can handle them.

It may be overkill for BF2 but what about future games? The GTX260 comes with COD5 and I'm sure hes gunna love it more then BF2 .
