well now its time for some more fan swapping

I found a happy home for my corsair memory cooler at the back of the case but its TOO LOUD with its stock fans. Its actually the loudest component in tho whole setup. So, the nice little corsair 60x20mm fans have got to go

I'm using Silenx 60x25mm 18cfm 16dba fans for the swap. They dont pust quite as much air but they are much quieter. When I ordered them, i didnt notice the corsair fans were 20mm thick but nothing a quick run to the hardware store cant fix..

Well, got out the new fans, realised they were 5mm thicker, bought longer screws, and sliced the wired together. reassembled the unit and bolted to back of case (no zip ties this time). I had to cut a small notch in the back of the side door so it could clear the nut from the fan bolt.

Then I hooked up a red cold cathode tube light and hid it as best as i could.

Case is back to quiet status. Nice red glow from the light at bottom.

I think i will replace the side door fan with the clear one with red leds also. before i thought it would be too much but I think I have changed my mind

Of course i am lol

Now I have to wait for BFG to send me my other 295. They got my 285 for trade up already. It was delivered by UPS last wednesday but i haven't recieved an email form bfg yet. Their trade up program is very slow. I started the whole procedd like 3 months ago. Good thing I bought a 295 from the egg or who knows how long I'd be sitting here with a computer with no video....

Yes you can. With BFG, you have 100 days (as long as you register your card within 30 days) from date of purchase to upgrade your card for a better one. but like I said, it's a long, slow process (at least for the 295 it is)

I think it may be going so slow for me because of the demand for the 295's but I dont know for sure. Buy yeah, you pay the difference and shipping and you can trade in your card.

I think asus has a trade up program too.

That was why i bought from BFG. Lifetime warranty and trade up program.

Nice documentation, I'm thinking of doing the same when I finally get all my parts .

I'm loving the placement of the RAM cooler, I never though of putting it there! 10/10 .

hey again
thought I would try and finish this build up so I can start or my second build today I am painting the HAF logo on the sides and replacing the black side door far with a clear red led one.

I think I have some strange issues with replacing fans lol

well when i get 35 rep at least I'll have something to sell/trade to you guys

I thought It would be cool to get a dremel and cut out the HAF letters, metal mesh behind the cutouts, and light it up red from behind.

I couldnt pull the trigger on buying the dremel. I think I may try to find one with a bit more horsepower that can use dremel bits.

If I dont like how the paint turns out, I can maybe cut later

Pictures incoming
