did some tweaking with voltages over the last couple days and now i max at 67 degrees celcius when running 8 worker threads of prime and cpuz reports 99% load. running stable at 3.99 overclock. idle temps vary with ambient temp but on a 75-80 F day im at 40-43 celcius @ idle 67 c at 99% load. I think this is pretty good for a overclocked i7

I traded my v-10 with noctura fans for the Mega using the same fans and i have to say the mega comes in about 8-9 degrees cooler if you lap the mega and the cpu. The v-10 is a fine choice also as who knows what temps it would have lapped. I may be selling my v10 or I will used it in my next build if it will fit lol

Lapping Warning!
Prolimatech does not condone any type of lapping done to the CPU or to heatsink base. Every Prolimatech's heatsink base is designed on a pin-point scale of how the base is to be flat and/or curved where it's needed to be. We have programed our machines to machine the surface in a very calculated way. Any after-manufacture lapping or modding done to the base will alter the design, hence negating its performance factor as well as its warranty.


I dont know the true behind that but did you notice any dip in temps?
