Default [Build] i(7) CUP Underwater

Intel Build Log:

Another Black/Red Theme

Parts:

CPU: i7 920 D0 Batch #3845B (purchased through Antares Digital)
http://www.antaresdigital.com/custom...cat=282&page=1
Mobo: Evga x58 Classified
Mem: Dominator-GT 6GB 1866
HDD: 2x WD Velociraptor 150gig
GPU: GTX 275 SC SLI
PSU: Silverstone ST1200W
Case: Silverstone TJ-09

WC Gear:
Pump: 2xMCP 355 w/xspc top
CPU: HK 3.0
NB: Bitspower Black Freezer
GPU(s): Koolance GPU Block
Res: eK Spin Res and eK 100mL rev 2
Rad(s): MCR320, 2xMCR120
(will swap a MCR220 for a 120 if temps are too high)
Fans: Zalman Fan Controller w/ 5xPanaflo; 1xDelta Triple Blade

*edit*
My plans recently changed, and I am making this a dual loop.

Loop #1:
eK Spin Res >>> pump >>> MCR320 >>> HK 3.0 >>> NB/SB Block >>>

Loop #2:
eK 100mL Res >>> pump >>> MCR120 >>> GPU >>> MCR120 >>> GPU

Will also include:
custom rad mount for the MCR320
Powder Coating by OCN artisan TDN1979
possible cable sleeving

This case (TJ-09) is kind of hard to work with, it's quite small. I'm trying to keep everything inside the case with respect to WC gear. This is why I opted to first try the 2xMCR120's rather than 1xMCR220 and 1xMCR120. If temps are poor I will either add a second loop or a MCR220 inplace of a MCR120.

My oringal WD 150gig Raptors crapped out on me and are in the process of RMA with WD. Apparently, WD does not make the original (1.5Mb/s) Raptors anymore so they are bumping me up the the Velociratoprs. Yay for me!

Most of the parts are in, and pics have been taken. They will be posted when I have some free time on my hands. I will also include a description of how I made the custom Rad brackets for the TJ-09. TiGa was a big help, since I had to make it before my radiator came in. I had to do this so that I could ship them off with the rest of the parts to be powdercoated by TDN1979.

On a side note, TDN1979 has been great so far through this whole process. He has been very patient, and has answered all of my pm's almost instantly. I'm very excited to see how the paint job turns out. I cant wait to see his progress.

Again, sorry for starting this a few days late, but I've been busy with finals. I haven't even been able to jerry-rig the parts togeather and play with the i7 on with the stock cooler.

Pics will follow... possibly tonight, most likely tomorrow.

The first shipment form newegg included everythign except for the i7. People thought that the egg was shipping d0's but another member on this forum recieved a c0. so i found one for an excellent price on antaresdigital.com. $290 for a guarenteed i7 d0. it's the best price out there at the moment.

The next day I recieved all my WC gear except for the fittings, tubing, and gpu blocks.

I'm very excited about the Bitspower NB/SB block.

Next will be the color design of the case, custom rad mount, mobo tray mod for the 24pin power cable, sata cables and GPU cables. The parts sent to TDN1979 will also be featured.

nope, its not really needed. I might cool it if i add a second loop for a third gpu. but keep in mind, ill have the 320 rad above the mobo and it will pull air across the mosfet, and help cool it.

well, becasue of some bad weather, I was forced inside on Memorial Day afternoon. I noticed all of my stuff still sitting in the boxes, and decided to jerry-rig a setup and see what all the fuss is with the i7

I took some of the panaflo fans and set them up to cool the NB/SB block becasue it was getting noticably hot. I also put one above the stock cpu heatsink. Needless to say I was able to put up this monster with temps in the upper 60's:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=573730

I didn't run a stress test In fear of load temps, but I was able to browse the web, stream pandora and not have any issues.

I can't wait to see what I can get when it's under water
